WATER
Always wear a personal flotation device (life jacket)
when fishing from a boat. Do not fish in rivers or
streams when they become flooded. Be very careful
when fishing from shore not to get so close to the
edge that you might fall in the water. Shore anglers
should wear personal flotation devices, too.
BUGS
Insect repellent will
greatly reduce annoyances
with bugs and
insects, allowing your
fishing experiance to be
an enjoyable one.
KNIVES
Fillet and pocket knives
are handy to have when
fishing, but are even
more dangerous than
hooks. Take special care
to handle knives safely.
SUNLIGHT
Wear protective clothing and limit exposure to
direct sunlight. Use a quality sunscreen when outdoors
on sunny days. Wear sunglasses to protect
your eyes.
