6:40 am—Get to Chris Gidney’s and grab ute with equipment and car on trailer, head to
Sandown and commence unloading into garage.
8:30—finished unloading car and start helping Jason Holmes get his car setup ready for
practice, practice delayed due to heavy fog. Commence trying to find source of
problem on Chris’s car as it is idling at 3100 RPM, dodgy sensor to blame and organise
with Adrian Akhurst to bring new sensor and brake booster line from Adelaide
tonight.
11:30—Jason heads out for first session, has braking issues and reports that he is locking
rear brakes, inspection reveals flatspot of front left, rotate front left to rear and
check brake bias. Jason states has no grip whatsoever.
14:00—Jason heads out for second session, still having issues with pinching front brakes
16:00—Chris and Jason head out for final practice, session starts well and both cars seem
making an unknown hand gesture (along the lines of “its Fucked”) heads back out
onto main straight and accelerates away before slowing and pulling off at turn
one. Receive word from turn one that Chris’s car is stationary and will be towed
back, I head to turn one to see what the problem is and Chris states that car will
not drive when in gear. Car is towed back to garage and we begin looking over
issue, car will move under own power at low revs but from all reports seems to be a
