We took a trip to the Maths Challenge in B59 hosted by Mr Skipper and Mr Freeman. They were doing
‘Shape Display Challenge’ and had to do the following; 3x20cm² rectangles, 3x20cm² triangles, 3x20cm²
paralellogram , 3x20cm² compound shapes , 3x20cm² trapeziums and 1x20cm² circle.
The students had to draw and cut out these shapes and display them on large coloured piece of paper
according to their team. They won different amounts of points for different shapes. They also gained
bonus points by completing Sudoku’s and Word Problems or Crosswords.
“I thought this Maths Challenge would be an interesting thing, the first challenge was a crossword and I
found out some answers to some maths equations. I think what I’m learning will come in handy for

Team Holmes said that listening to a calculation helped them to work out the equations. Anais Hubbard
says that she enjoyed the adding.
