Year 11 Rotarian Interviews
On 26 September, 17 October and 14 November over one hundred and twenty Year 11 students donned their
finest formal outfits to participate in the annual practice interviews.
Held at the Town Hall in Hunstanton, students were invited to take on a real life experience and challenge
themselves to participate in a formal interview conducted by the Hunstanton Rotarians.
Each student was interviewed by two Rotarians, with the sessions lasting approximately twenty minutes. Questions
ranged from identifying their own strengths and weaknesses, where students completed their work experience, to
where they would like to be in five years’ time.
After the formal discussion, the Rotarians took a short time to evaluate and grade the students on areas such as
greeting, clarity of speech and persona, along with areas for improvement, before feeding back to the interviewee.
Each student who completed their interview was exemplary. They could easily have been mistaken for young
executives and conducted themselves in a mature and professional manner. The Rotarians were exceptionally
complementary about all of the students they interviewed.
We hope that the experience leaves these students prepared for the interviews they will participate in throughout
their future, and perhaps with some key areas they’ve improved and with fewer nerves!
