Student Services
Student Services had a challenging year with an
increase in demand on all its services. The Careers
Centre reported a record number of visitors to the
centre as well as to the Teaching Appointments Fair
and the Experience Works Fair.
The number of people using the Dyslexia and Disability
service, which liaises with College departments and
services, also continues to grow. It has been particularly
active in advising staff about the changes in legislation
and preparing the Disability Equality Scheme (DES).
The Accommodation Service continued to focus on
delivery to students, allocating student accommodation
and advising students about how to access
accommodation off-campus. The addition of De
Marillac Hall to the portfolio means there are now
778 beds available to students. All first years can
be accommodated on campus.
During the course of the year the Student Services
Centre also took on the running of the College
bursaries and scholarships.
