Your Excellency, ihe Governor of Assam and Chancellor of the<br />
University, You have mentioned in your presidential address at the<br />
convtcation that learning <strong>Sanskrit</strong> is the panacea of all ills of the<br />
. <strong>Sanskrit</strong> teaches us to be humble, truthful and do good to<br />
. lf so, may I suggest that a short course in <strong>Sanskrit</strong> to the<br />
ministers and officers in the government may be of help in<br />
corruption and other human failings which threaten the<br />
oiow ntiion and give a bad image of India among the nations<br />

Beinq one of the oldest civilizations in the world, India has a long<br />
standininistory of scholarship and our ancestors nu": t?1:<br />

Veda mentions in the hymn of creation:<br />
Ancient Indians accorded divine stature to knowledge and<br />
