BRAHMASHRI MADHURA KRISHNA MURTHY SASTRY<br />

Brahmashri Madhura Krishna Murthy Sastry was born<br />

on 28rh February, 1928 at the Mukkamala village in the West<br />

Godavari District. Madhura Saci Devi and Venkayya Bhusura<br />

were very pious and noble parents. He hailed from a very<br />

traditional and scholarly family. He imbibed in his personality all<br />

the virtues and values inherited from his ancestors.<br />

Having had his primary education at his village even at<br />

the tender years of age he proceeded to learn Kavyas and<br />

Vyakarana Sastra under Sri Pishupati Vishveshvara Shsfrl. lt<br />

was the celebrated Guru shri Vajapeya yajula Venkata<br />

Subrahmanya Somayajiwho imparted him the Rgveda Smartha,<br />

Samskrita Nataka -Alankara Sahitya and the Hora and Samhita<br />

Bhagas of Jyouthisha Sastra. He further continued to learn<br />

under the same Guru the Muhurth and Prashna Bhaga of this<br />

discipline and Vastu sastra under the same Guru. Afterwards<br />

he studied Siddhanta Bhaga and Panchanga racana and<br />

Dharmasastra thoroughly under the revered Guru Shri<br />

Shripada Venkata Daivajna Sharma.<br />

As a reputed author in the field of Ancient Indian<br />

Astrology and Astronomy, Shri Krishna Murthy Sashtry to his<br />

credit edited, wrote and published many illustrious works like Jataka Atankara, Gruhavastu Dipika, Daivajna Valtabha. Bhavartha<br />

Ratnakara, Vastu Sastra Viveka (in three parts). Shata Yoga Manjari. Anubhava Sutabha Vastu grantha (2 parts), Adhika - Kshaya<br />

Mimamsa and Drksiddhasya Avsakata and won the laurels of the scholarly world for his unique efforts. In the year 2O0O AD he was<br />

honored with VACASPATI honorary title by this <strong>Rashtriya</strong> <strong>Sanskrit</strong> <strong>Vidyapeetha</strong>.<br />

In the year 2004AD he was the recipient of the Prestigious Presidential Award of Government of India. .Respecting his unparallel<br />

scholarship in Astrology and allied sciences many national and international organizationsuch as AJO VIBHO Kandala Foundation,<br />

Bharatiya Vijnana Samithi, Madras Telugu Academy and others felicitated him with many awards. Kanakabhisheka, Suvarna Ratnamala<br />

etc.,<br />

PROF. TV SRINIVASA TATACHARYA<br />

On 20th July, 1931 , Prof . Srinivasa Tatacharya was born at Kanchipuram which is one among the seven Mokshanagars as the blessed<br />

son of Smt. Perin Devi and Shri Venkata Varada Tatacharya.<br />

At a very tender age he successfully completed Kramanta Svadhyaya of Krshna Yajurveda. Thence he proceeded to Madrapuri for<br />

learning Nyaya Sastra in traditional stream and obtaiend Nyaya Siromani Degree from the University of Madras. In course time he learned with<br />

great devotion and dedication the Visishtadvaita Vedanta Sastra also under the great pfeceptor Ubhayavedantacharya Ayya Devanathan<br />

Acharya and became a staunch follower and praciitioner of the Visishtadvaita tradition. Simultaneously he became a peerless expert of<br />

Agama Sastra too.<br />

This great scholar served Sri Chandra Sekharenora<br />

Sarasvathi Nayasastra Mahavidyalaya of Kanchipuram as a<br />

traditional preceptor of Nyaya Sastra for 15 years and produced<br />

many great scholars on perfect traditionalines. Similarly his<br />

disciples in the fields of Veda, Vaishnava Agama and<br />

Visishtadvaithalso have won a great name for this great<br />

multi disciplinary teacher.<br />

As an editor and author he has scores of books after<br />

his name. Hastigira Mahatmyam needs a special emphasis<br />

among his writings as it is his worthy contribution dealing<br />

with the historicity of Kanchipuram. He guided many Ph.D.,<br />

scholars also. Among the Ph.D. theses produced under his<br />

guidance "Acharya Vaibhavam", "Veda Apaurusheyatvam"<br />

and "Lakshmi Svarupam" became very popular in the scholarly<br />

world earning a great name to this great acharya.<br />

For the last 40 years his incessant series of lectures in<br />

the Shankara Matham of Sri Kanchi Shri Kamakoti Peetham<br />

have been pleasing and enlightening scholarly circles.<br />

The titles like "Kainkarya Shri", "Veda Vedanta Shastra<br />

Vicakshana" and "Vidvanmani" have adorned his name with<br />

befitting propriety.<br />
