OBITUARIES<br />

WEBSTER — Walter J. “Mac” Markiewicz,<br />

95, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 in<br />

Harrington Memorial Hospital in<br />

<strong>Southbridge</strong>.<br />

He leaves his wife of 66 years, Gladys S.<br />

(Lebudzinski) Markiewicz; two brothers,<br />

Joseph Markiewicz in Ohio, and Frank<br />

Markiewicz of Webster; two sisters, Theresa<br />

wife of Raymond Raiczyk of Port Richey,<br />

Fla., and Sr. Mary Adelia of the Felician<br />

Sisters in Enfield, Conn., many nieces and<br />

nephews.<br />

Walter was born in Webster, one of 12 children<br />

to Joseph and Delia (Kulczak)<br />

Markiewicz and lived here all his life.<br />

He was predeceased by six brothers, John,<br />

Henry, Chester, Steve, Bernard and Willie and<br />

a sister, Mary Brisson.<br />

Walter served in the U.S. Army during<br />

World War II, and saw action in the Pacific.<br />

He earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star<br />

OXFORD – Marion E. (Leslie) Paige, 87,<br />

died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Lanessa<br />

Extended Care Center in Webster. She was<br />

predeceased by her husband of 49 years,<br />

Charles A. Paige of Oxford who died in 1996.<br />

She is survived by her children, Patti<br />

Neslusan and her husband John of<br />

Connecticut, June Booker and her husband<br />

Steve of Oxford, Gail Berthiaume of Florida,<br />

Wayne Paige and his wife Lois of Webster,<br />

Richard Paige and his wife Lois of<br />

Washington, Glen and his wife Jackie of<br />

Florida, and Robert of Princeton; a sister,<br />

Marjorie Hilton of New Hampshire; and<br />

many grandchildren great-grandchildren,<br />

nephews and nieces.<br />

She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian<br />

Venoit and a brother, Maurice Leslie.<br />

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of<br />

the late Merton and Nellie (MacIntosh)<br />

during that time in Saipan<br />

He worked at the former<br />

Packard Mills and later at the<br />

former Risom Mfg. Co. and<br />

retired many years ago.<br />

He was a member of the<br />

P.A.V., enjoyed fishing, boating<br />

and bowling, and loved his<br />

grand nieces and nephews.<br />

There are no calling hours.<br />

A funeral Mass will be private at St.<br />

Joseph’s Basilica. Burial with Military<br />

Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley<br />

Veterans’ Council will be in St. Joseph<br />

Garden of Peace Cemetery.<br />

The Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and<br />

Lake Chapel, 366 School St. is assisting the<br />

family with the arrangements.<br />

before moving to Oxford 60 years ago.<br />

Mrs. Paige was a chef at Hubbard Regional<br />

Hospital in Webster many years ago.<br />

She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and liked<br />

vacationing at in Maine and at Hampton<br />

Beach. S<br />

he was a direct descendent of Attila the<br />

Hun, as well as the Leslie and MacIntosh clan<br />

of Scotland.<br />

She lived life to the fullest until her death.<br />

There are no calling hours. A funeral and<br />

burial will be private.<br />

may be made to the Lanessa Extended Care,<br />

c/o the Activities Dept., 751 School St.,<br />

Webster, MA 01570.<br />
