Oxford begins celebration of 300 years with parade
OXFORD — This celebration was 300 years in the making.
Hundreds of local residents lined the sidewalks of Main Street to
watch the Oxford 300th anniversary kick off celebration on Sunday,
July 8. The actual tercentennial will be marked next summer, but the
members of the Oxford 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee
wanted to begin the festivities and fundraising efforts this year.
Residents were treated to a parade, food, drinks, music, games and
merchandise from local vendors.
