Gobi named Woman of the Year<br />
BOSTON — State Rep. Anne M. Gobi (D-<br />
<strong>Spencer</strong>) was named Woman of the Year by<br />
the North Quabbin Anglers at their annual<br />
meeting.<br />
Gobi was recognized for her continuous<br />
support of sportsmen and women and their<br />
families and for her dedication to the environment<br />
and maintaining a balance of all interest<br />
groups, hunter, hikers, fishermen, birdwatchers,<br />
canoeists and boaters.<br />
“I was honored to receive this award from<br />
one of the premier Sportsmen’s group in the<br />
state,” stated Gobi.<br />
The award was presented by Anglers<br />
President and Athol Board of Selectmen<br />
Chairman Tony Brighenti.<br />
Cast members still needed for play<br />
NORTH BROOKFIELD — The Friends of<br />
the Town House are sponsoring “Fifty Miles<br />
from Boston” by George M. Cohan. People are<br />
still needed to fill the cast. Rehearsals are at 7<br />
p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays in the North<br />
Brookfield Elementary School auditorium.<br />
Performances will be May 2-3 at North<br />
Brookfield Elementary School.<br />
Tantasqua Foundation to<br />
hold Family Festival<br />
STURBRIDGE — The Tantasqua Education<br />
Foundation (Ted.) will hold a Family Festival<br />
from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at Tantasqua<br />
Regional High School.<br />
Events will include baseball, basketball and<br />
tennis clinics, magicians, birds of prey, face<br />
painting, jewelry making, a Show Choir<br />
Cabaret, Old Sturbridge Village story telling,<br />
and tons more for the whole family. The grand<br />
finale will be a THS alumni vs. 2007 state<br />
champs basketball game.<br />
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children.<br />
All proceeds will go to the Tantasqua<br />
