Tongue & Groove a perfect R&R fit
Tongue & Groove isa
recently formed, fivepiece
act that performs
R&B, Classic Rock, and
some more recent hits as
well.
Recently, the band's
lead singer/front man,
Jay De Feudis gave me the
inside scoop on this hot
new group.
“Cam Ventura is the
band's Guitar Hero,” said De Feudis. “He can
play anything, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani
or Stevey Ray Vaughn, note for note.”
The band's bassist, Myles St. Jean is great
with nailing the tricky bass parts to many 80s
covers.
“He also comes in handy when on funky
songs like Brick House,” said De Feudis.
Keyboard player Dennis Renaud is the
Casanova of the group.
Said De Feudis: “Whenever he plays a ballad
on the piano, the girls always melt.”
And last but not least Jimmy Monstream,
who plays at every gig like it is in a stadium.
“He is one the most talented and flamboyant
drummers I have ever had the pleasure of
working with,” De Feudis said. “It’s truly a
treat to watch this guy play.”
Less than a year ago De Feudis was invited
to listen to these guys rehearse for the first
time and was really impressed.
“The band cranked through a half a dozen
well known classic rock songs and played
them to near perfection,” he said. “I just listened
to every member of the band ‘nail’ their
parts, vocals too.”
Ventura then told De Feudis he was interested
in adding a great lead singer to give the
band more of a distinctive sound that showcase
everyone’s strengths.
“I guess I’ve been unofficially dubbed the
master of ceremonies,” De Feudis said with a
laugh. “It’s my job to bring out the party in
people.”
So Tongue & Groove approaches every gig,
big or small, like it’s truly an event.
“We want every person to go home feeling
like they just witnessed the best local concert
they had ever seen,” said De Feudis
