On-line learning modules<br />
• As part <strong>of</strong> their academic orientation, students are expected to<br />
complete three online, self-paced modules within the first 10 weeks <strong>of</strong><br />
their enrolment:<br />
– Academic Conduct Essentials (ACE) introduces students to<br />
the basic issues <strong>of</strong> ethical scholarship and the expectations <strong>of</strong><br />
correct academic conduct at this <strong>University</strong>. <strong>The</strong> fostering <strong>of</strong><br />
academic integrity is given high priority at <strong>UWA</strong> and is supported<br />
by institutional policies and practices.<br />
– Indigenous Studies Essentials (ISE) introduces students to the<br />
shared learning space that <strong>The</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Western</strong> Australia<br />
embodies. This learning space includes both western and<br />
Indigenous knowledge systems.<br />
– Communication and Research Skills (CaRS) assists students<br />
in developing the ability to find and analyse information and to<br />
express and articulate their ideas within an academic context,<br />
through a series <strong>of</strong> online tutorials.
