<strong>Parks</strong> <strong>Victoria</strong> is responsible for manag<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>Victoria</strong>n protected<br />

area network, which ranges from wilderness areas to metropolitan<br />

parks and <strong>in</strong>cludes both mar<strong>in</strong>e and terrestrial components.<br />

Our role is to protect the natural and cultural values <strong>of</strong> the parks<br />

and other assets we manage, while provid<strong>in</strong>g a great range <strong>of</strong><br />

outdoor opportunities for all <strong>Victoria</strong>ns and visitors.<br />

A broad range <strong>of</strong> environmental research and monitor<strong>in</strong>g activities<br />

supported by <strong>Parks</strong> <strong>Victoria</strong> provides <strong>in</strong>formation to enhance park<br />

management decisions. This Technical Series highlights some <strong>of</strong><br />

the environmental research and monitor<strong>in</strong>g activities done with<strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>Victoria</strong>’s protected area network.<br />
