LOCATION: MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA <br />

<strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong><strong>Technolog</strong>ies</strong> <br />

<strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong><strong>Technolog</strong>ies</strong> manufactures OEM new & refurbished parts for piston engine aircraft, <br />

helicopters, military applications and light Jets. <br />

Key Responsibilities <br />

<strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong><strong>Technolog</strong>ies</strong> seeks a Drafter to support Product engineer in making changes to or creating new <br />

3D models, drawing and technical specifications. In addition, the drafter assists in managing the changes to <br />

engineering records to insure the integrity of <strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong><strong>Technolog</strong>ies</strong> product lines (turbochargers, <br />

wastegates, valves and controls, fuel pumps, alternators, starter motors, ignitions systems, voltage regulators <br />

and cabin heaters). <br />

Key Deliverables of the Position <br />

1) Generate models and drawings for components or assemblies based on measurements taken from <br />

components, sketches or 2D drawings. <br />

2) Process engineering changes requests via Pro-­‐E and AutoCAD <br />

3) Use accepted design techniques including GD&T to modify or create drawings. <br />

4) Create and modify all affected areas on Bills of Material (BOM) such as part number, revision level and <br />

date. <br />

5) Construct specification forms and complete specifications as directed for distribution <br />

First Year Success Factors <br />

1) Proficiency with HET change management processes <br />

2) Familiarization with all HET product lines <br />

Required Education and Experience <br />

Two year technical degree in Drafting and Design <strong>Technolog</strong>y or equivalent work experience. <br />

Required Technical Competencies <br />

1) Experience with and working knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD software, preferably ProE and experience with <br />

GD&T. <br />

2) Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. <br />

3) Proficiency with various forms of hard gauging such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.


4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills <br />

Preferred Technical Competencies <br />

1) Experience with AutoCAD software. <br />

2) Experience with aviation related products and the FAA regulatory system. <br />

3) Experience working in an <strong>Engine</strong>ering/Manufacturing environment. <br />

4) A good understanding of mechanical structures and manufacturing processes. <br />
