Thursday of the First Week of Holy Pentecost
prayed, the fashion of his countenance
was altered, and his raiment was white
and glistering. And, behold, there
talked with him two men, which were
Moses and Elias: Who appeared in
glory, and spake of his decease which
he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
But Peter and they that were with him
were heavy with sleep: and when they
were awake, they saw his glory, and
the two men that stood with him.
And it came to pass, as they departed
from him, Peter said unto Jesus,
Master, it is good for us to be here: and
let us make three tabernacles; one for
thee, and one for Moses, and one for
Elias: not knowing what he said.
While he thus spake, there came a
cloud, and overshadowed them: and
they feared as they entered into the
cloud. And there came a voice out of
the cloud, saying, This is my beloved
Son: hear him. And when the voice
was past, Jesus was found alone. And
they kept it close, and told no man in
those days any of those things which
they had seen. Glory be to God forever.

Wherefore I also, after I heard of
your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love
unto all the saints, Cease not to give
thanks for you, making mention of
you in my prayers; That the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of him: The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that
ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the
glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness
of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his
mighty power, Which he wrought in
Christ, when he raised him from the
dead, and set him at his own right
hand in the heavenly places, Far above
all principality, and power, and might,
The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.
and dominion, and every name that is
named, not only in this world, but also
in that which is to come: And hath put
all things under his feet, and gave him
to be the head over all things to the
church, Which is his body, the fulness
of him that filleth all in all.
And you hath he quickened, who
were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked
according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of
the air, the spirit that now worketh in
the children of disobedience: Among
whom also we all had our
conversation in times past in the lusts
of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the
flesh and of the mind; and were by
nature the children of wrath, even as
others.
