2.14.05 The size of the awards shall be restricted to the following sizes: 1st place shall not exceed 31cm in<br />

height (12.09”), 2nd place shall not exceed 26cm in height (10.14”), 3rd place shall not exceed<br />

21cm in height (8.19”).<br />

Opening and Closing Awards Ceremony<br />

2.15.01 The competitors who have won first, second and third places will proceed in the official national<br />

sports uniform of their delegation to the victory stand. They are not allowed to carry flags or<br />

banners of any sort, or other visible objects that are not part of the official uniform of the<br />

delegation. Only competitors who are receiving awards may enter the floor for the awards<br />

ceremonies.<br />

2.15.02 The medals will be presented in the following order: 1 st Place, 2 nd Place, and 3 rd Place. The winner<br />

of the gold medal shall be placed slightly above the second place finisher, who is on his right; the<br />

third place finisher, who is on his left, shall be placed slightly below the second place finisher.<br />

2.15.03 At the opening and closing ceremonies no kind of political, religious, or racial propaganda or<br />

demonstrations are allowed at the venues of World Championships or at other sites considered<br />

part of the World Championships. No Club uniforms – only the official uniforms of the national<br />

federations or their competition costumes can be worn during the opening and closing<br />

ceremonies, as well awards ceremonies<br />

2.15.04 Any violation to the above regulations shall result in disqualification or withdrawal of the<br />

accreditation of the person or persons involved. FIRS may take action against the National<br />

Federation responsible for such violation, and the decision taken by the FIRS Committee<br />

regarding this matter shall be final.<br />

Skating Surface Size Requirements<br />

2.16.01 The minimum size of the skating surface for a World Championship event is 25 metres by 50<br />

metres. Any deviation from this size must be approved by the CIPA Executive Committee.<br />
