Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is in memory of Stephen Matheny and<br />
will be given <strong>to</strong> the high school athlete that possesses many of his same qualities.<br />
While not the best athlete on his team, Steve did demonstrate tremendous<br />
dedication <strong>to</strong> the sport despite many obstacles placed in his way. He inspired the<br />
team through his hard work and determination. The scholarship is open <strong>to</strong> any male<br />
or female athlete who participated at the varsity level during their senior year. They<br />
must be accepted <strong>to</strong> a four year accredited college/university. Applicants must<br />
submit a one- page (maximum) essay explaining why they meet the same criteria or<br />
why they are deserving. Essays should be returned <strong>to</strong> Chairperson by mail.<br />

deserving, and who are anxious <strong>to</strong> acquire a better education. Explain briefly how<br />
you feel you are eligible for this assistance. <strong>Scholarships</strong> available <strong>to</strong> families with<br />
combined income of $70,000 or less.<br />
