COURSE DESCRIPTION
Clinical Reviews and Primary Care
Update consists of lectures, discussions,
and workshops on problems of general
interest in various areas of medicine,
surgery, and pediatrics. Medical staff
of Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, University
of Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, and
University of Massachusetts Medical
School and Memorial Hospital will
provide reviews and updates in the
areas of cardiology, dermatology,
endocrinology, gastroenterology,
geriatrics, infectious diseases, internal
medicine, neurology, women’s health,
pediatrics, pulmonary medicine, and
sports medicine.
COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this program,
participants should be able to:
• Describe the components of
metabolic syndrome
• Evaluate and treat hypertriglyceridemia
• Practice stroke prevention
• Identify patients with sleep apnea
• Recognize skin cancer
• Diagnose and treat migraine
headaches
• Evaluate and treat pulmonary
hypertension
• Interpret elevated liver function
tests
• Choose an appropriate cardiac
stress test to evaluate chest pain
• Triage ophthalmologic emergencies

for Continuing Medical Education to
provide continuing medical education
for physicians.
Mayo Clinic College of Medicine
designates this educational activity for
a maximum of 29.0 AMA PRA Category
1 Credit(s). Physicians should only
claim credit commensurate with the
extent of their participation in the activity.
AAFP – Application for CME credit has
been filed with the American Academy
of Family Physicians. Determination of
credit is pending.
AOA – This program has been
approved by the American Osteopathic
Association for 29.0 Category 2 Credits.
Other Health Care Professionals – A
certificate of attendance will be provided
to other health care professionals for
requesting credits in accordance with
state nursing boards, specialty societies,

registration fee includes tuition, course
syllabus, workshops, daily continental
breakfast, breaks, lunch on Monday,
Tuesday, and Thursday, and the Sunday
evening welcome and dessert reception.
On-site registration will be held on
Sunday, June 17, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.,
and Monday, June 18, beginning at
7:30 a.m. Although it is not Mayo
School of CME policy to limit the
number of registrants for a course,
conference room facilities may
necessitate closing of enrollment;
therefore, early registration is advised.
A letter of confirmation will be sent
upon receipt of payment and completed
registration form. Please present the
confirmation letter when checking in at
the meeting registration desk.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your participation in
this course, your registration fee,
less a $75 administrative fee, will be
refunded when written notification
is received by Mayo School of CME
on or before June 3, 2007. No refunds
will be made after June 3, 2007.
