World Vision heroes fly high with Cebu Pacific
Cebu Pacific (CEB), the country’s leading domestic carrier, continues to go beyond offering affordable
trips to its passengers, as it brings World Vision child sponsors to Roxas for the World Vision-Cebu Pacific
Lakbay Pag-Asa Project.
An esteemed organization that addresses the causes of poverty and injustice, World Vision spearheaded
the project with CEB to give the sponsors a chance to meet and bond with their sponsored children.
Some of them have been supporting the children’s education and well-being for the past five years,
but Lakbay Pag-Asa is their first time to see each other in person.
“Child sponsorship is an exciting and rewarding endeavor, both for the benefactor and the beneficiary,”
says Boris Joaquin, World Vision Publics in Ministry Director.
“It’s such a worthwhile journey to open the doors of opportunities for a child, and be an instrument for
him or her to achieve a better future. We are grateful to our partner Cebu Pacific, as it takes us on this
meaningful journey.”
“We believe that the World Vision-Cebu Pacific Lakbay Pag-asa Project will have lasting positive effects,
both on the sponsors and the children. It is an honor to help make that happen with World Vision,
truly a hardworking partner in promoting education in the Philippines,” said CEB VP for Marketing and
Distribution Candice Iyog.
World Vision helps the world’s underprivileged children by encouraging individuals to donate P20 a day,
P600 a month or P7, 200 annually. Its program also facilitates communication between sponsors and
beneficiaries. Aside from the child-sponsorship project, World Vision also provides emergency response
and disaster relief whenever calamities arise. It also constantly raises public awareness and involvement
about issues concerning the poor. Those interested in sponsoring a child can call (02) 372-7777 or visit
For its part, Cebu Pacific constantly participates in relevant community projects. It has been partnering
with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to help fight global warming and climate change, and is supporting
the education projects and relief operations of GMA Kapuso Foundation to various parts of the country.
With the World Vision-Cebu Pacific Lakbay Pag-Asa Project, the leading low-cost airline has proven once again that
there’s always more to flying with Cebu Pacific, as it helps children reach their potentials and give them the
opportunity to fly high in life.
