David Perrico Pop Evolution Debuts May 21 at<br />

<strong>Stratosphere</strong> Theater<br />

Live late night twice a month performances with 18-piece b<strong>and</strong><br />

will help support student musicians as part of <strong>Stratosphere</strong> partnership<br />

May 8, 2013 – Las Vegas, NV – Trumpeter, conductor <strong>and</strong> composer David Perrico <strong>and</strong> his<br />

b<strong>and</strong> Pop Evolution have a new home at <strong>Stratosphere</strong> <strong>Casino</strong>, <strong>Hotel</strong> <strong>and</strong> Tower, further<br />

establishing <strong>Stratosphere</strong> Theater as the place for live vintage Vegas-style original entertainment<br />

with a modern vibe.<br />

Featuring an impressive 18-piece b<strong>and</strong> with an assortment of horns, guitars <strong>and</strong> strings, David<br />

Perrico Pop Evolution transforms popular songs from all genres by infusing them with big b<strong>and</strong><br />

sound <strong>and</strong> the vitality that can only come from a stage packed with professional musicians.<br />

Strong female vocals by Naomi Mauro & Savannah Smith paired with the power of Perrico’s<br />

trumpet produce a one-of-a-kind sound <strong>and</strong> experience.<br />

“Our show is different every night. We thrive off the energy of the audience while switching up<br />

different songs, styles <strong>and</strong> original arrangements,” said Perrico. “It is exciting to see an iconic<br />

property like <strong>Stratosphere</strong> embrace <strong>and</strong> support live music <strong>and</strong> musicians.”<br />

David Perrico Pop Evolution will appear every first <strong>and</strong> third Tuesday of the month at<br />

10:30 p.m. at <strong>Stratosphere</strong> Theater, starting Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Doors open at 10 p.m.<br />

Tickets are $20, plus tax <strong>and</strong> can be purchased at <strong>Stratosphere</strong> Ticketing, online at<br />

As part of <strong>Stratosphere</strong>’s ongoing commitment to the community <strong>and</strong> education, half of all<br />

proceeds at the door will be donated to the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, a magnet public<br />

high school in the Clark County School District dedicated to the performing <strong>and</strong> visual arts.<br />

“We cannot be more thankful for this growing partnership with <strong>Stratosphere</strong>,” said Scott Walker,<br />

Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Principal. “This support is not only financial. <strong>Stratosphere</strong>’s<br />

talented entertainment team is also donating their time <strong>and</strong> expertise with the goal of helping our<br />

students achieve.”<br />

<strong>Stratosphere</strong> headliner Frankie Moreno has taught several “Master Classes” at Las Vegas<br />

Academy, giving students an inside perspective into the music industry <strong>and</strong> helping with song<br />

writing <strong>and</strong> performance skills. Perrico, <strong>and</strong> cast <strong>and</strong> crew from <strong>Stratosphere</strong>’s PIN UP starring<br />

Claire Sinclair will also be working with students in the coming school year.<br />

David Perrico is one of Las Vegas’ most in-dem<strong>and</strong> musicians, with the Las Vegas Review<br />

Journal recently naming Dave Perrico Pop Evolution “Best of Las Vegas 2013” for Lounge<br />

Performer or Tribute Act. In addition to leading Pop Evolution, Perrico currently serves as music<br />

director/trumpet for <strong>Stratosphere</strong>’s PIN UP, starring Claire Sinclair. He has performed<br />

internationally with the legendary Tommy Dorsey Orchestra <strong>and</strong> has been featured in headliner<br />

shows including Donny & Marie, Natalie Cole, Toni Braxton, Cirque du Soleil, Gladys Knight,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Zowie Bowie. As a composer, Perrico has received national awards for original jazz <strong>and</strong><br />

symphony orchestra compositions <strong>and</strong> was recently featured in the Vegas PBS series "artScene".<br />

Perrico also serves as an adjunct faculty member for UNLV’s jazz studies program. He has 11<br />

CDs <strong>and</strong> four DVD recordings to his credit, including The Family Guy Live DVD <strong>and</strong> the<br />

Grammy award-winning album One Voice by Gladys Knight.<br />
