Associate in Science Degree Programs<br />
The <strong>programs</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>study</strong> (curricula) for the Associate in Science degree at <strong>Chipola</strong> include many courses that are transferable to Florida<br />
colleges and universities. Each AS degree contains a minimum <strong>of</strong> 15 hours <strong>of</strong> general education courses, all <strong>of</strong> which are transferable.<br />
Courses designated [O] in the “course description” section <strong>of</strong> this catalog may not transfer. Interested students should check with Student<br />
Affairs for additional information and assistance. To access specific academic plans check the college website.<br />
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION<br />
Program Code 2185<br />
This curriculum prepares students for employment as managers in a variety <strong>of</strong> business environments such as an owner/manager for<br />
a small business, or for continued education beyond the Associate degree level. Students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in any<br />
area <strong>of</strong> business at a four-year college or university may instead fulfill the Associate in Arts degree requirements for a major in Business<br />
at the chosen transfer school. All courses taken in this Associate in Science degree are transferable to state universities in Florida. An<br />
additional 10 hours <strong>of</strong> specific general education courses, the Gordon Rule and CAAP requirements would be needed to earn an Associate<br />
in Arts degree.<br />
A minimum <strong>of</strong> 64 semester credit hours is needed to graduate with an AS degree in Business Administration from <strong>Chipola</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
All Associate in Science degree students must complete the required English and mathematics courses with a grade <strong>of</strong> “C” or higher.<br />

For Gordon Rule credit, choose 4 hours from the following: AML 2010, AML<br />
2020, ENC 2210, ENL 2012, ENL 2022, ENC 1133, HUM 2216, HUM 2233,<br />
or SPT 2521.<br />

QMB 2100 satisfies FL common business prerequisites; STA 2023 satisfies<br />
general education math requirements & FL common business prerequisites.<br />
Students with 6 sem. hrs. <strong>of</strong> other general education math course work should<br />
take QMB 2100; students who need additional general education math course<br />
work should take STA 2023.<br />

If you have completed STA 2122, you have met this requirement. You cannot<br />
receive credit for both STA 2122 and STA 2023.<br />
