FIRE SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY<br />
Program Code 2166<br />
This program is designed for working firefighters who may have already taken a variety <strong>of</strong> courses. This curriculum is designed to<br />
meet the requirements for the statewide articulation agreement for AS to BS in Fire Science.<br />
<strong>Chipola</strong> provides students who have completed Workforce Development course work the opportunity to transfer Workforce Development<br />
course work toward their AS Degree in specific <strong>programs</strong>. Fees apply for the transfer process.<br />
A minimum <strong>of</strong> 60 semester credit hours is needed to graduate with an AS degree in Fire Science Technology from <strong>Chipola</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
All Associate in Science degree students must complete the required English and mathematics courses with a grade <strong>of</strong> “C” or higher.<br />

NETWORKING SERVICES TECHNOLOGY<br />
Program Code 2173<br />
This program prepares students for entry-level positions as microcomputer support specialists, help desk representatives, and network<br />
support technicians. Content includes topics and skills emphasized in various industry certifications including the CompTIA A+,<br />
Security+, and Network+, as well as various Micros<strong>of</strong>t network certifications (MTA, MTICP). Students holding valid current IT industry<br />
certifications should contact a departmental advisor about credit that may be awarded for selected courses based on such certifications.<br />
Students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems at a fouryear<br />
college or university should fulfill the Associate in Arts degree requirements for the chosen transfer school. Students desiring both<br />
AS and AA degrees will need an additional 21 semester credit hours <strong>of</strong> general education courses beyond the requirements for this degree<br />
and CAAP test requirements.<br />
This academic plan is set up for Fall initial enrollment. Course numbers in bold indicate courses that are <strong>of</strong>fered only once per year.<br />
Students in this program must work closely with a departmental advisor for proper course sequencing. Students who need to complete<br />
developmental reading, math, and/or writing courses, or who plan to enter during Spring or Summer or attend part-time should contact<br />
a departmental advisor about recommended sequence.<br />
A minimum <strong>of</strong> 63 semester credit hours is needed to graduate with an AS degree as a Network Administrator from <strong>Chipola</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
