<strong>Maybin</strong> <strong>wins</strong> <strong>Championship</strong><br />

<strong>This</strong> <strong>years</strong> <strong>Suffolk</strong> <strong>sales</strong> <strong>got</strong> <strong>off</strong> <strong>to</strong> a flying start in Balmoral with RT &<br />

MB <strong>Maybin</strong> securing the <strong>to</strong>p price of £ 2800 for a ram lamb which won<br />

the Supreme Champion and was by Laurelbank Dexter. <strong>This</strong> was a very<br />

stylish ram genotype ARR/ARR and was purchased by the judge James<br />

Fleming Lanarkshire for his Hallhill flock. Trade was brisk with the<br />

auctioneer Graham Loughry from J A McClelland & Sons Ballyclare,<br />

having no problem in securing bids for the <strong>to</strong>p quality s<strong>to</strong>ck which was<br />

on <strong>off</strong>er.<br />

Reserve supreme champion went <strong>to</strong> a ram lamb out of Glenho Giants<br />

Causeway which was owned by Harry Stewart and was sold for £ 1500.<br />

Female Champion and Reserve Female Champion both went <strong>to</strong> RT &<br />

MB <strong>Maybin</strong>’s Carnarvon flock. These were two very stylish ewe lambs<br />

out of Knockadoo Romeo and fetched £ 1000 & £ 900 respectively.<br />

Results in the shearling ram class – 1 st S & W Tait with a massive<br />

shearling by Cairness Royal Court 2 nd Mark Priestly 3 rd S & W Tait 4 th<br />

T J Killick.<br />

Signet recorded ram lamb – 1 st Ian Donald with a very promising lamb<br />

out of Cairness Royal Court 2 nd S & W Tait 3 rd Alastair Gault 4 th S &<br />

W Tait<br />

Novice Cup – 1 st Ian Donald with another very stylish lamb out of<br />

Cairness Royal Court 2 nd Mark Priestly 3 rd & 4 th Anthony Pat<strong>to</strong>n<br />

Ram Lamb open class - 1 st RT & MB <strong>Maybin</strong> with his lamb which went<br />

on <strong>to</strong> win the male champion and supreme champion, 2 nd S & W Tait<br />

3 rd S & M Liggett 4 th David Duncan<br />

Pen of three ram lambs – 1 st went <strong>to</strong> an impressive pen owned by Harry<br />

Stewart and were by Glenho Giants Causeway, 2 nd S & M Liggett, 3 rd S<br />

& W Tait 4 th D Duncan<br />

Ewe lamb – 1 st & 2 nd RT & MB <strong>Maybin</strong> with his stylish lambs which also<br />

went on <strong>to</strong> win the champion and reserve champion females 2 nd & 3 rd S<br />

Hamil<strong>to</strong>n.<br />
