missed too many meetings to vote or seek
office. That’s right, over 40% of the club has
already missed at least five of the first eight
meetings of the year. Who knows how many
more people might become ineligible over
these next three or four meetings. That is really
sad.
Election season is upon us.
Parliamentarian Linda Laningham will be seeking
people at the September and October general
meetings to run for a spot on the 2015 Central
Valley Corvettes executive board.
Three of your five existing members will be
termed out and the remaining two board
members are willing to stay on pending your
nomination. Fred Parks will be stepping down as
your treasurer and Pam Hansen completes her
second year as vice-president of activities. As for
me, I too have completed two years as your
president and it will be time for someone else to
grab the reins.
Kim Fosnaugh is willing to accept another year as
the CVC secretary and Skip Severance is very
interested in shifting over to vice-president of
activities. That means we need someone for
president, vice-president of public relations and
treasurer as well as anyone else interested in the
other two positions.
However, we have one big glaring problem. Of
the 82 members in CVC, only 48 people are
eligible to vote in December, let alone run for
office. Anyone who misses more than four
meetings during a calendar year cannot vote.

we moved the meetings up thirty minutes to
6:30pm and we have done our best to keep the
meetings moving and complete the raffle by
7:45pm. So saying the meetings drag on is no
excuse not to attend. It may be too late to vote
or seek office for many of you this year, but
please try and improve your attendance the rest
of this year and certainly in 2015. CVC has a lot
of really good dedicated long standing members
and we are all excited to have the big crop of
new members. Aside from staying active and
involved in the club, it is important we maintain
our attendance. I really think the vast majority
of us are capable of making eight out of the
twelve meetings each year. If some of you are
missing meetings just to avoid serving on the
board, please come to the monthly meetings
and simply decline a nomination should one
arise.
In closing, Pam and I are really excited and
looking forward to hosting the five day, four
night CVC President’s Mystery run September
29 to October 3. If you are not one of the
