A dramatic fall in infection rates was one of the main features<br />
of the Trust’s performance figures for 2008/9.<br />

Despite winter pressures which caused problems across the<br />
NHS this year, with more people needing to be admitted to<br />
hospital, the Trust hit its target for at least 98% of patients<br />
spending four hours or less in Accident & Emergency from<br />
arrival to admission, transfer or discharge.<br />

Cancer waiting times<br />

99.3% of patients were seen by a specialist within two weeks<br />
when urgently referred by their GP.<br />
100% of patients commenced treatment within a month of<br />
diagnosis of cancer.<br />
