Compact sound attenuator for circular ducts
FUNCTION
CLAc and CLBa are a series of rectangular, compact sound attenuators for circular ducts. CLAc and CLBa require minimal installation
space. The mounting height is extremely low: as much as 50 and 80 mm less than conventional sound attenuators for circular ducts.

DESIGN
CLAc is a rectangular sound attenuator for connection to
circular ducts. The mounting height is as much as 50 mm less
than a conventional circular sound attenuator.
CLAc is manufactured as standard in galvanized steel sheet.
The sound attenuating material, CLEANALON ® -C , is a type
approved insulation material consisting of long-fibre, compressed
mineral wool. The mineral wool is covered with a
special fibre-glass cloth . CLEANALON ® -C is tested and
approved by an independent test institute with regard to
cleaning, fibre loosening, ageing properties, emissions etc.
The connection spigots are equipped with rubber seals.
Dimensions from ∅80 to ∅400 mm are available in stock for
rapid delivery.

FIRE CLASS FULFILLED THROUGH SAFETY DISTANCE
CLAc is approved by an independent test institute with regard
to fire classes El30/E60 and El60/E60, under the condition that
the safety distance to flammable materials and/or persons in
the emergency exit path is fulfilled.
In those cases that the safety distance is not fulfilled, CLAc
comes up to fire class E60.

PRESSURE DROP - DIMENSIONING
In order to achieve improved sound attenuating data with
CLAc, the net area is slightly reduced.
The pressure drop obtained using CLAc in duct-duct mounting
is shown in Graph 1.
We recommend using our sound calculation software ProAc,
which in addition to desired sound attenuation also gives inherent
sound generation and pressure drop for each product
separately. ProAc may be downloaded from Swegon´s website
on the Internet.
The data presented is based on an even air flow in and out of
the attunator. Dampers, duct bends, or other equipment installed
near to the attenuator will increase the pressure drop
and inherent sound as well as adversely affecting the sound
attenuation.

DESIGN
CLBa is a rectangular sound attenuator for connection to
circular ducts, equipped with acoustic splitter for improved
sound attenuating performance.
The installation height is all of 80 mm less than a conventional
circular sound attenuator.
CLBa is manufactured as standard in galvanized steel sheet.
It fulfils requirements for fire class E30.
The sound attenuating material, CLEANALON ® -AL , is a type
approved insulation material consisting of long-fibre, compressed
mineral wool. The mineral wool is covered with a
microperforated aluminium-foil. CLEANALON ® -AL is type
approved with regard to cleaning, fibre loosening, ageing
properties, emissions etc.
The connection spigots are equipped with rubber seals.
Dimensions from Ø500 to Ø800 mm are available on order.

PLANNING
Calculate the required sound attenuation manually or with
the help of the Swegon sound calculation software ProAc
(available on our website).
The data shown are based on an even airflow in and out of
the attenuator. Dampers, bends in the duct or other duct
equipment in the vicinity of the attenuator will increase the
pressure drop and sound generation in addition to influencing
the attenuation achieved.
MAINTENANCE
CLAc and CLBa are under normal operating circumstances
maintenance free sound attenuators.

The declaration of construction materials is available on our
website or may be ordered from one of our sales offices.
INSTALLATION
The spigots on these products are only intended for connection
to ducts.
The product is to be installed suspended with supports under
its entire width.
