1 GENERAL<br />

1.1 Scope<br />

The outer boot, mountain/ski, is worn together with the inner boot, mountain/ski,<br />

by soldiers of the mountain troops for military skiing in alpine terrain.<br />

1.2 General technical-organizational requirements<br />

In accordance with <strong>TL</strong> 8400-0007<br />

Special attention should be paid to the human ecological requirements.<br />

1.3 Environmental compatibility<br />

In accordance with <strong>TL</strong> 8400-0007.<br />

Special attention should be paid to the fact that nickel must not be used and<br />

that the chromating of metal surfaces is not admissible.<br />

2 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS<br />

2.1 Technical data package<br />

Injection-moulded shell boot made of polyurethane with ring eyelets and hook<br />

lacing, rubber edge strip at the forepart, profilated rubber long sole with shock<br />

absorbing heel, colour: black.<br />

The outer boots shall be permanently marked with the size at the outsole (waist<br />

portion) and at the shell outside (inside waist portion).<br />

3 QUALITY ASSURANCE<br />

3.1 Quality inspection<br />

No specific requirements.<br />

It is presupposed that the Contractor ensures the fulfillment of the technical<br />

requirements by conducting item-related acceptance tests and documenting the<br />

results (refer to 3.2).<br />

3.2 Quality assurance requirements<br />

No specific requirements.<br />

The contractor shall test the deliverable for contractual compliance and document<br />

the result.<br />

3.3 Government Quality Assurance<br />

4 PACKAGING<br />

Not applicable; unless otherwise specified in the contract.<br />

For packing level C (NATO-4) in accordance with <strong>TL</strong> 8100-0101, the packaging shall<br />

be conducted taking the following additional requirements or deviations into<br />

account:<br />

4.1 Unit package<br />

Each pair of outer boot, mountain/ski, shall be packed into a commercial box so<br />

as to be resistant to vibration. The box shall be provided with ventilation<br />

holes.<br />

Marking of shipping package<br />

According to Figure B.1.<br />

4.2 Shipping package<br />

5 unit packages each, identical in size, shall be packed into a collapsible<br />

cardboard box with butting outer bottom and top closure flaps so as to be<br />

resistant to vibration.<br />

Double-wall corrugated boxes shall be used, their quality ensuring a stacking

height of 2.50 m without box deformation (especially in the lower layers). The<br />

shipping package shall be provided with ventilation holes.<br />
