1 GENERAL
1.1 Scope
The outer boot, mountain/ski, is worn together with the inner boot, mountain/ski,
by soldiers of the mountain troops for military skiing in alpine terrain.
1.2 General technical-organizational requirements
In accordance with TL 8400-0007
Special attention should be paid to the human ecological requirements.
1.3 Environmental compatibility
In accordance with TL 8400-0007.
Special attention should be paid to the fact that nickel must not be used and
that the chromating of metal surfaces is not admissible.
2 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Technical data package
Injection-moulded shell boot made of polyurethane with ring eyelets and hook
lacing, rubber edge strip at the forepart, profilated rubber long sole with shock
absorbing heel, colour: black.
Article Civetta, Messrs. LOWA 85305 Jetzendorf, (see Annex C) or equivalent.

2.3 Materials
The materials to be used are specified in the list of materials, Annex A.
2.4 Technical data

The shoes shall represent quality work.

2.6 Marking of supply items
Affixing brand and company logos is not allowed. Marking exclusively according to
the requirements specified in the respective valid TL.
The outer boots shall be permanently marked with the size at the outsole (waist
portion) and at the shell outside (inside waist portion).
3 QUALITY ASSURANCE
3.1 Quality inspection
No specific requirements.
It is presupposed that the Contractor ensures the fulfillment of the technical
requirements by conducting item-related acceptance tests and documenting the
results (refer to 3.2).
3.2 Quality assurance requirements
No specific requirements.
The contractor shall test the deliverable for contractual compliance and document
the result.
3.3 Government Quality Assurance
4 PACKAGING
Not applicable; unless otherwise specified in the contract.
For packing level C (NATO-4) in accordance with TL 8100-0101, the packaging shall
be conducted taking the following additional requirements or deviations into
account:
4.1 Unit package
Each pair of outer boot, mountain/ski, shall be packed into a commercial box so
as to be resistant to vibration. The box shall be provided with ventilation
holes.
Marking of shipping package
According to Figure B.1.
4.2 Shipping package
5 unit packages each, identical in size, shall be packed into a collapsible
cardboard box with butting outer bottom and top closure flaps so as to be
resistant to vibration.
Double-wall corrugated boxes shall be used, their quality ensuring a stacking

height of 2.50 m without box deformation (especially in the lower layers). The
shipping package shall be provided with ventilation holes.
Outer dimensions of the shipping package in accordance with DIN 55510-3 (maximum
dimensions)

Closure
Double-T closure in accordance with DIN 55479, index number 3 by means of a
suitable, well sealing tape or gummed paper tape.
When closing the boxes attention must be paid that the closure flaps at bottom
and top are butting.

4.3 Marking of packaging materials
Unless provided with the “Green dot”, the packaging materials shall be marked in
accordance with TL 8100-0072 as required in the packaging regulation.
