SKATE<br />

DESCRIPTIONS<br />

Parent & Tot<br />

A special skate just for<br />

parents with children 6 &<br />

under. Interactive pieces <strong>of</strong><br />

equipment will be available on<br />

the ice. Children in strollers<br />

are welcome at all sessions but<br />

must wear a helmet. <strong>The</strong>se<br />

sessions may share ice<br />

with lessons.<br />

Family Skate<br />

Families with average abilities<br />

are encouraged to attend<br />

these sessions. <strong>The</strong>re is a<br />

slow area set up at one end.<br />

Adults need to actively observe<br />

their children & discipline<br />

as necessary, but need not<br />

be on the ice. <strong>The</strong> ratio <strong>of</strong><br />

adults:children is 1:3. Groups<br />

are welcome during this session<br />

provided they adhere to these<br />

guidelines.<br />

Everyone<br />

Welcome Skate<br />

Pump up the volume & speed<br />

on this skate. Program Leaders<br />

will be on the ice to create an<br />

atmosphere filled with fun &<br />

responsible skating. All skaters<br />

are expected to respect<br />

slower skaters.<br />

Family/Youth Drop In<br />

Stick & Puck<br />

Helmet with cage, wooden<br />

stick & plastic puck only.<br />

Family sessions are for up to<br />

18 years <strong>of</strong> age, Mom & Dad<br />

are welcome to join in on<br />

the family session. A leader is<br />

present for these sessions &<br />

Mom & Dad don’t<br />

have to skate.<br />

Youth sessions, 13-18yrs,<br />

with leader.<br />

Adult Skate<br />

Adult skates are open to<br />

19yrs & up. All sessions are<br />

the traditional full ice circle<br />

style with music suggestions<br />

provided by the participants.<br />

Games <strong>of</strong> hockey will not<br />

be permitted.<br />

Adult/Adult 50+<br />

Drop-In Hockey<br />

Sessions are great for lots <strong>of</strong><br />

ice time. A maximum <strong>of</strong> 20<br />

players & 2 goalies per session.<br />

Full equipment is mandatory<br />

at all these sessions.<br />

At the Ladner Leisure Centre<br />

9:30 am - Drop <strong>of</strong>f time for used skates (figure skates and hockey<br />

skates), figure skating apparel and hockey helmets<br />

All sessions are held at the Ladner Leisure Centre and South <strong>Delta</strong> Recreation Centre<br />

with our coaches who are certified with Skate Canada.<br />

• Canskate – Learn-to-skate for 3 yrs and up<br />

• CanPowerskate – Entry to Advanced level<br />

• Figure Skating – Junior Development – STARSkate<br />

• Group & Private Lessons – For all levels <strong>of</strong> ability<br />

• Synchronized Skating<br />
