Turning 60 in Dublin
Dear Reader,
What we know as CEPE today was formed 60 years ago by some National Associations. At that time there
were no strong EU institutions and the main reason for meeting was to be a platform for exchange of common
issues. Europe has changed profoundly and so has CEPE.
Looking back on many years of standing up for the vital interests of the European paint and coatings industry,
CEPE has coped with hundreds of challenges to ensure that this powerful industry stays ahead of the
global race! One crucial topic in this context is our ability to wholeheartedly embrace this century‘s demand
for sustainability and practice it in all our products and processes. Taking last year’s conference topic to the
next level we move on from a phase of understanding, interpreting and discussing standards for measuring
sustainability to actively addressing the issue and its effects on our industry, our markets and even at the
very core of our business concepts.
Join your peers in Dublin’s fair city, which offers an excellent venue and charming atmosphere for CEPE’s
60th birthday celebration. Choose to be part of a convention to which you may look back one day thinking
that it was the right decision to join forces and share knowledge with your peers from the European paint and

The accommodation
Hotel accommodation is not included in the CEPE Annual
Conference & General Assembly fee. On behalf of CEPE
we have arranged a room block for conference delegates
in the Shelbourne Hotel for a special single room rate of
€ 209,- incl. VAT and breakfast. After having registered
for the conference, you will receive a hotel reservation
form enabling you to arrange your room booking.
Reservations can be made from 1st June 2011 until 31th
July 2011. Please note that reservations received after this
date will be subject to availability.
Conference fees
The conference registration form informs you in detail about
all fees. However, important to note is the date 15th July
2011. Up to this date you will profit from early bird rates.

Social programme
For those who arrive early or depart late, we have
organised a special and exclusive social programme,
which will give you and/or your spouse the possibility to

strengthen contacts. If you would like attend, please
make your reservation on the conference registration
form. Please note that the minimum participation
number is 10 persons.
Cancellation
Cancellations will be accepted and fees refunded if made
in writing and received by 6th September 2011. If cancellation
is received later, but not later than 20th September
2011, 50% of the fees will be refunded. Delegates who fail
to attend without notifying the organiser or who cancel later
after 20th September 2011 will be liable for the whole
conference fees. Substitutions of delegates may be made
at any time. Any fees to be refunded will be paid after the
end of the conference.
Please note
The organiser reserves the right to change the programme
content or to cancel the event due to important
reasons. Cancellation fees of third parties that may
appear in this context will not be reimbursed.

The CEPE Association invites all conference attendees to the CEPE
night on 6 October 2011 which is dedicated this year to celebrate
CEPE’s 60th anniversary. Starting at 19.00 h, you are welcome
to leave an impressive conference day behind. Enjoy a delicious
Irish dinner entertained with Irish dancing and music as well as
the overwhelming overview of Dublin by night in the outstanding
atmosphere of the famous Guinness Storehouse. Don’t miss this
opportunity to renew and strengthen contacts, cultivate business
relationships and discuss the new challenges and opportunities
the coatings industry is facing and last but not least – celebrate the
anniversary of the CEPE!

Classic sightseeing Dublin – The old
Jameson Distillery
5 October 2011, 15.00 – 17.30 h
Arriving the day before the conference? Looking for an interesting
and fun alternative to spend the afternoon? Come to grips with one
of Irelands most famous and popular exports! Your English speaking
guide will bring you to the Old Jameson Distillery - a historical and
cultural landmark in Dublin city. The Old Jameson Distillery is an
old distillery, which has been turned into a museum explaining the
history of Irish whiskey and the process of whiskey making. The tour
ends in the bar for a fun whiskey tasting session where everybody
will get a chance to sample Irish whiskey. You will be given the
opportunity to taste the difference between Scotch, Bourbon and
Irish Whiskey and receive a diploma which qualifies you as qualified
Irish Whiskey tasters.
Classic sightseeing Dublin
6 October 2011, 9.30 – 16.30 h – Full day tour
The most interesting, unusual, craziest and most beautiful parts of
Dublin will be visited during this tour. You will visit Trinity College
- founded by Elizabeth I in 1592 and the sole college of Dublin
University. The Old Library houses some 200,000 of the college’s
collection of more than 2 million volumes. The most priceless manuscript
it owns is the Book of Kells, a Latin text of the Four Gospels
with illuminated pages, which dates back to about AD 800. You
will also see St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Jonathan Swift, the author of
Gulliver’s Travels was once the dean of this famous Cathedral, one
of the finest examples of Gothic Architecture in Dublin. Afterwards
you will get an opportunity to view the Georgian Squares which Dublin
is famous for. The visit of the Temple bar area, the lovely Molly
Malone, the most famous cafe, the highest monument and the oldest
pub will follow. A lunch stop will be included, food & drinks will
be at your individual expense. The afternoon will allow for a guided
tour of Dublin castle and a drive through Phoenix park, one of the
largest enclosed recreational spaces within any European capital
city before the bus will take you back to the Shelbourne Hotel.
Classic sightseeing – Dublin North
Coast Tour
7 October 2011, 09.30 – 12.30 h
Meet our professional guide in the lobby of the Shelbourne hotel
for an exciting half day tour along the North coast of Dublin. The
first stop will be the remarkable Casino at Marino, one of the finest
18th century neo-classical buildings in Europe. The Casino, meaning
‘small house’ surprisingly contains 16 finely decorated rooms. The
next stop will be the Heritage town of Malahide. The tour than will
take you past magnificent coastal scenery to Howth Harbour, a
picturesque fishing village. Crossing the nearby summit of Howth
Head you will have a panoramic view of the huge expanse of Dublin
Bay. Set against a backdrop of the Dublin and Wicklow mountains,
the view is regarded as one of the world‘s great seascapes.
