potential hazards in the home,<br />
provides appropriate safety measures, <strong>and</strong><br />
teaches you to recognize infant cardiac arrest <strong>and</strong><br />

In cooperation with <strong>Saint</strong> Clare’s Behavioral Health<br />
Services, our Maternity Department provides a<br />
full complement of crisis intervention, assessment,<br />
counseling <strong>and</strong> self-help group support <strong>for</strong> women<br />
suffering from depression after childbirth. Support<br />
groups <strong>and</strong> programs are available through referral<br />
by the New Jersey Self Help Group Clearinghouse.<br />
Infant Massage<br />
Learning specific massage<br />
techniques is a unique opportunity<br />
to build a strong bond with your<br />
children. Infant massage has been<br />
proven to calm anxious babies,<br />
improve sleep, relieve gas, encourage parent-child<br />
communication, relieve symptoms of colic, <strong>and</strong><br />

Massage Services<br />
<strong>Saint</strong> Clare’s is pleased to offer<br />
massage services <strong>for</strong> maternity<br />
patients. <strong>Mother</strong>s-to-be can<br />
arrange <strong>for</strong> prenatal or postpartum<br />
massages to relax <strong>and</strong> ease the<br />
physical stress of carrying a baby <strong>and</strong> childbirth.<br />
Massage also facilitates postpartum structural<br />
realignment. New dads are also encouraged to<br />
partake in a massage to relieve stress, muscle<br />
soreness <strong>and</strong> aches <strong>and</strong> pains providing needed<br />
care <strong>for</strong> dads. Family members <strong>and</strong> friends can<br />
purchase a massage as a gift <strong>for</strong> both parents.<br />
