Charmed, I 'm Sure
Feathers go vintage in this art-as-accessory charm bracelet.
First, weave a thin rhinestone chain through a chunkier chain.
Then add some eye-popping feathers (outfitted with cord
crimps) and charms to the bracelet using jump rings.
Knock on Wood
To create this eye-catching centerpiece, hot glue
an assortment of feathers and dazzling jewels to
two wood slices (found in the Craft Department).
Any pillar-style candleholder you have can provide
the base for this unique piece.
Full Circle
Don’t forget the walls! To
make this unique wreath,
hot glue individual pheasant
feather pads all over a
Styrofoam wreath. Fill it in
with coordinating feathers
to add more interest.
These Boots were Made
for...Feathers Strut your stuff in stylishly
feathered boots. Kick your oldies but goodies up a notch by
stitching a dainty chain to both sides of the boot, letting
a few inches of the chain hang down. Then attach a few
colorful feathers and beads to the chain with cord crimps
and jump rings. Now you’re steppin’ in style!
Stepping Out
Transform plain heels from totally predictable to absolutely
irresistible by hot gluing a gorgeous array of feathers inside
the strap of the heel. Then glue a satin ribbon the width of
the strap over the feathers, for added comfort. Dozens of
sparkling heat-set gems completed the “ooh la la” effect.
Packages & P lumes
Dress up your presents! Use an artful arrangement of
feathers to spruce up a passel of packages. We chose guinea
fowl, peacock, and various other feathers and glued the
feathers in among the bows.
Hold on to Your Feathers
We’re holding onto great style with this perfectly feathered clutch! To make your own, simply gather
lots of coordinating feather picks, remove the loops from the feathers and use hot glue to adhere the feathers to the purse.
Tip: This look is great for thrift store finds and for turning a back-of-the-closet clutch into a brand-new accessory.
Precious
P lumage
We used a felt jewelry
base, found in the Jewelry
Dept.(trimmed to fit our
needs), as the backing
for our heirloom-style
necklace. First, sew split
rings onto each end of the
felt to attach the chain.
Then hot glue sprays of
feathers to the felt. Add a
pretty pendant, dangling
beads and a darling button
to finish off the design.
In Fine
Feathers
Here’s a new take on
traditional jewelry! A
simple leather band
forms the base, then
hot glue pretty feathers
and a gorgeous brooch
to the center.
Go for the Gold
Covered in lace, embellished with pearl clusters and accented
with gorgeous feathers, this opulent masquerade mask
couldn’t have been easier to make—the feathers are simply
hot glued to the back of the mask.
Light as a Feather
This lampshade was made by simply
hot gluing a mass of lustrous black
feathers to the shade and layering in a few
well-placed stripped coque feathers.
