Die Woche wird organisiert von:

Das Regattabüro befindet sich in Travemünde, Trelleborgallee
1. RULES
1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the
Racing Rules (RR) of Sailing (RRS).
1.2. The national authority prescriptions will apply for national
and International German Championships.
1.3. Jury Hearings may act under the Arbitration System.
1.4. If there is a conflict between languages the English text
will take precedence.
1.5. Each boat shall have a valid measurement certificate.
In addition to RRS 78.2 the measurement certificate might
be inspected throughout the event.
1.6. A change of the entered sail number will be allowed until
registration. Boats are only allowed to use the sail number
of their boats measurement certificate.
1.7.1. Offshore Regatta: ORC Special Regulations governing
offshore racing shall apply. The Up&Down races are rated
category 4 and the distance races are rated category 3.
The “Sicherheitsrichtlinien, int. und nat. Richtlinien für
Ausrüstung und Sicherheit Seegehender Segelyachten“,
latest version of German DSV, inclusive „Special Regulations
ORC“ will apply.
1. REGELN
1.1. Die Veranstaltung wird nach den Wettfahrtregeln - (WR -
Segeln)- gesegelt.
1.2. Die Vorschriften des nationalen Verbandes finden Anwendung
für nationale und internationale deutsche Meisterschaften.
1.3. Jury Hearings können nach dem Arbitration System verhandelt
werden.
1.4. Bei Sprachkonflikten ist der englische Text maßgebend.
1.5 Jedes Boot muss einen gültigen Messbrief haben.
In Ergänzung der WR 78.2 kann der Messbrief während
der Veranstaltung überprüft werden.
1.6. Die gemeldete Segelnummer kann bis zum Einchecken
geändert werden. Boote dürfen nur die Segelnummer
ihres Messbriefes benutzen.
1.7.1. Seebahnen: Hinsichtlich der Sicherheit und Ausrüstung
der teilnehmenden Yachten gelten die „Sicherheitsrichtlinien,
int. und nat. Richtlinien für Ausrüstung und Sicherheit
Seegehender Segelyachten“, neueste Ausgabe des
DSV, einschließlich der „Special Regulations des ORC.
Die Wettfahrten der Travemünder Woche Seebahnen fallen
für die Up&Down Wettfahrten in die Kategorie 4 und
für die Mittelstrecken Wettfahrten in die Kategorie 3 dieser
Richtlinien.
2. ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats may be required to display bow numbers and
advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
Please see the Sailing Instructions.
2. WERBUNG
2.1. Boote können aufgefordert werden, Bugnummern und
durch den Veranstalter ausgewählte und bereitgestellte
Werbung zu zeigen. Siehe dazu die Segelanweisungen.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1. The races of the Travemünder Woche are open to classes:
see Notice of Race No 5. The ISAF Eligibility Code shall
apply.
3.2. Eligible boats and coaches may enter either:
3.2.1. Paper Mail: A completed and signed official form shall be
send together with the required fee to the organizers.
3.2.2. Internet: Online-entries via Internet will be accepted only
if the official entry form is being used. The form shall be
filled in completely. The organizers shall be authorized to
collect the entry fee electronically.
3.2.3. Faxed entries will be accepted only on the official entry
form. The organizers shall be authorized to collect the
entry fee electronically.
3.2.4. Formless entries via Mail or FAX will not be accepted.
3. ZULASSUNGSKODEX UND MELDUNG
3.1. Die Regatten der Travemünder Woche sind offen für die
Klassen: siehe Ausschreibung Nr. 5. Es gilt der ISAF
Zulassungs Codex.
3.2. Zulassungsberechtigte Boote und Trainer können melden:
3.2.1. per Post: Senden des komplett ausgefüllten offiziellen
Meldeformulars mit Unterschrift und der Einzugsermächtigung
für das Meldegeld.
3.2.2 per Internet: Die Meldung über das Internet ist nur gültig,
wenn das offizielle Meldeformular benutzt wird. Der Veranstalter
muss zum Einziehen des Meldegeldes per
Online-Zahlung ermächtigt werden.
3.2.3. per Fax: Telefax-Meldungen werden nur akzeptiert, wenn
das offizielle Meldeformular benutzt wird. Der Veranstalter
muss zum Einziehen des Meldegeldes ermächtigt werden.
3.2.4. Formlos: Formlose Meldungen, die per Post, e-Mail oder
FAX eingehen, werden nicht akzeptiert.

4. FEES
Entry closes on 9 July 2012
4.1 Fees are stated in Euros. Entries received by 1 July 2012
will qualify for the early Entry fee.
4. MELDEGELDER
Meldeschluss ist am 9. Juli 2012
4.1 Meldegelder sind in Euro ausgewiesen. Meldungen, die
bis zum 1. Juli 2012 eingehen, zahlen das in der Spalte

4.2 The entry fee is non-refundable.
4.3 Late entries can be accepted only up to 20 July 2012. An
extra fee of 100 % will apply.
4.4 The organizers reserve the right to accept entries in
exceptional cases. An extra fee of 100% will apply.
4.5 If entered the entry fee shall be paid, even if the entry is
being cancelled later, or the boat does not show up. Competitors
under 18 years of age shall provide the organizing
authority with a signed approval by a parent (document
see www.travemuender-woche.de).
4.2 Das Meldegeld wird nicht zurück erstattet.
4.3. Eine Nachmeldung kann nur bis zum 20. Juli 2012 angenommen
werden. Es wird ein Aufschlag von 100%
berechnet.
4.4 Die Veranstalter behalten sich vor, in begründeten Ausnahmefällen,
Meldungen vor Ort anzunehmen. Diese Meldungen
werden mit einem 100 % Aufschlag angenommen.
4.5 Der Anspruch auf Zahlung des Meldegeldes entfällt nicht
durch Rücknahme der Meldung oder durch Fernbleiben
des Bootes. Das Meldegeld wird nicht zurückerstattet.
Minderjährige Teilnehmer unter 18 Jahre müssen eine
vom Erziehungsberechtigten unterzeichnete Einverständniserklärung
vorlegen. Die Vorlage steht auf www.travemuender-woche.de
zur Verfügung.
5. CLASSIFICATION
5.1. The ISAF Sailor Classification Code is required for Olympic
classes.

7. QUALIFYING SERIES AND FINAL SERIES
7.1. The regatta may consist of a qualifying and a final series.
Classes may race a qualifying and a final series. This will
be posted on the official notice boards before 11:00 on
the first day of scheduled racing.
7. AUSSCHEIDUNGEN UND FINALWETTFAHRTEN
7.1. Die Regatta kann Ausscheidungs- und Finalwettfahrten
beinhalten. Dies wird vor 11:00 Uhr am ersten Tag der
Regatta ausgehängt.
8. SCHEDULE
8.1. Registration:
8.1.1.1. The regatta office is located at the waterfront of the
Leuchtenfeld opposite to the square-rigger “Passat” and
will be open from Friday, July 20rd up to Sunday, July 29rd
from 08.00 - 20:00 hrs. On Sunday, July 29rd the race
office will close soon after the last price giving.
8.1.2 Boats which are not registered at least 1 hour before their
first start may be scored DNS.
9. SKIPPERS MEETINGS
The locations and times for the Skippers’ meetings will be
published in the sailing instruction or on the Official Notice
Board.
8. ZEITPLAN
8.1. Einchecken/Anmelden
8.1.1.1. Das Regattabüro befindet sich an der Wasserseite des
Leuchtenfelds gegenüber der „Passat“ und ist geöffnet
von Freitag, 20. Juli bis Sonntag ,29. Juli von 08.00 bis
20.00 Uhr. Am Sonntag, 29. Juli wird das Regattabüro
nach der letzten Siegerehrung geschlossen.
8.1.2. Boote die sich nicht bis spätestens eine Stunde vor dem
ersten Start registriert haben können als DNS gewertet
werden.
9. SKIPPERS’ MEETINGS
Die Orte und Zeiten der Skippers’ Meetings werden in
den in den Segelanweisungen oder am Schwarzen Brett
bekannt gegeben.

10. MEASUREMENTS
10.1. In addition to RRS 78 the measurement certificate might
be inspected throughout the event.
10.2. For Offshore
10.2.1. A copy of the measurement certificate shall be delivered
with the entry form to the Race office, if not possible,
latest at the Check-In in the race office. Only one certificate
is allowed for the entire Travemünder Woche.
10.3. Classes 470 and Tornado: The class rules limitation to use
only one set of sails will not apply. A change of sails is
allowed.
10. VERMESSUNGEN
10.1. In Ergänzung der WR 78.2 muss jedes Boot den gültigen
Messbrief bereithalten.
10.2. Für Seeregatten
10.2.1. Eine Kopie des Messbriefs ist mit der Meldung abzugeben,
jedoch spätestens beim Check-In im Race Office.
Nur ein Messbrief ist für die gesamte Travemünder Woche
erlaubt.
10.3. Klassen 470 und Tornado: Die Klassenregellimitierung auf
einen Satz Segel ist außer Kraft. Segel dürfen gewechselt
werden.
11. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
11.1. The Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race will be
available at registration.

14. PENALTY SYSTEM
14.1. Decisions of the int. jury will be final as provided in rule
70.5.

14.1. Entscheidungen der internationalen Jury sind endgültig,
wie in Regel 70.5 vorgesehen.
15. SCORING
15.1. Dinghi Classes: The Low-Point –System will apply
15.2. Offshore: The “Time on Time TMF Inshore” scoring will
apply for ORC-Int and ORC-Club classes for the “Upand-Down”
races ( July 28 + 29). The “Time on Time TMF
Offshore” system will apply for the medium distance race
(July 21 + 22). The recommendations of the German RVS
will apply.
15. WERTUNGSSYSTEM
15.1. Jollenklassen: Es wird das Low-Point-System angewendet.
15.2. Seebahnen: ORC-Int. und ORC-Club Klassen werden für
die „Up-and-Down-Wettfahrten (28. + 29.07.) nach „Time
on Time TMF Inshore“ gewertet. Die Mittelstrecke am 21.
+ 22.07. wird nach „Time on Time Offshore“ gewertet. Die
Empfehlungen der RVS werden angewendet.
16. SUPPORT BOATS
16.1. Before racing support boats shall be registered at the
registration desk
16.2. A unique registration number will be assigned to each
support boat.
16.3. Support boats shall fly their registration number open visible.
16.4. The entry fee for coach boats is 50 € incl. mooring.
16. TRAINERBOOTE
16.1 Vor dem Segeln müssen sich alle Trainerboote am „Check
In“ melden.
16.2 Jedem registrierten Trainerboot wird eine eindeutige
Nummer zugeteilt.
16.3. Trainerboote müssen diese Nummer klar sichtbar anbringen.
16.4. Das Meldegeld für Trainerboote beträgt 50€ inkl. Liegeplatz
17. BERTHING
17.1. Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the boat
park/harbour.
17. LIEGEPLÄTZE
17.1. Boote müssen den ihnen zugewiesenen Platz an Land /
im Wasser behalten.
18. HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
18.1. Keel boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta
except with and according to the terms of prior written
permission of the jury.
18.2 Cranes: Keel boats arriving by trailer may be launched
and hauled out with there own connection wire by the cra-

19. DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS
19.1. Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their
equivalent shall not be used around keel boats between
the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the
regatta.
19. TAUCHAUSRÜSTUNG U. PLASTIKABHÄNGUNGEN
19.1. Geräte um unter Wasser zu atmen und Plastik Abhängungen
oder vergleichbare Ausrüstung ist für Kielboote nicht
erlaubt vom Startsignal der ersten Wettfahrt bis zum Ende
der Veranstaltung.
20. RADIO COMMUNICATION
20.1. A boat shall neither make radio transmission while racing
nor receive radio communication not available to all boats.
This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
20. FUNK/KOMMUNIKATION
20.1. Während ein Boot in einer Wettfahrt ist darf es keine Funk
Übertragungen machen und auch keine Funksprüche
empfangen die nicht auch alle anderen Boote empfangen
können. Dies trifft auch auf Handys zu.
21. PRIZES
21.1. Special prizes and Perpetual trophies for the individual
classes will be listed in the program.
21.2. A “Super Cup” will be given by Stadtwerke Lübeck to the
overall winner of the Up-and-Down-Races and the
Medium Distance.
21.3. Whenever there is any doubt as to the entitlement of
claims or to awards of perpetual trophies or special prizes,
a body constituted of the race committee chairman,
the Jury chairman and the officer in charge of prizegiving-ceremonies
will decide. Their decision will be final.
21.4. All winners of perpetual trophies (except finally won) are
requested to send those trophies back to the organizers
at least 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the next Travemünder
Woche.
21.5 Prizes not claimed at the Prize Giving Ceremony will
remain with the organizers.
21. PREISE
21.1. Sonderpreise und Wanderpreise für die einzelnen Klassen
sind in den Segelanweisungen aufgeführt.
21.2. Für die Teilnehmer der Seebahn gibt es den „Supercup
der Stadtwerke Lübeck“ für die Gesamtwertung der „Upand-Down“-Wettfahrten
und der Mittelstrecke.
21.3. Bei Zweifelsfällen der Zuordnung von Anrechten, Wander-,
Sonder- und Punktpreisen entscheidet ein Gremium aus
Wettfahrtleiter, Jury-Obmann und dem Verantwortlichen
für die Siegerehrungen. Diese Entscheidung ist endgültig.
21.4 Jeder Gewinner von Anrechten auf Wanderpreise (außer
den endgültig gewonnenen) hat diese spätestens vier
Wochen vor der nächsten Travemünder Woche an den
Veranstalter zurückzusenden.
21.5 Preise, die auf der Siegerehrung nicht abgeholt werden,
gehen an die Veranstalter zurück.
22. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
22.1. Limitation of liability - cognovits clause.
The responsibility for the decision of a helmsman to participate
in a race or to continue with it is solely with him; to
that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew.
The coxswain is responsible for the qualification and the
correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability
and the transport-safe condition of the registered
boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative
orders or for safety reasons, the organizer is entitled
to make changes in the realization of the event or to
cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any
liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant.
In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute
primary respectively material contractual duties
(cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter
because of which cause in law, for material and property
damages of all kinds and their consequences that
arise to the participant during or in connection with the
participation in the event resulting from a conduct of the
organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is
restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly
negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs,
in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer
22. HAFTUNGSAUSSCHLUSS
22.1. Haftungsbegrenzung - Unterwerfungsklausel
Die Verantwortung für die Entscheidung eines Bootsführers,
an einer Wettfahrt teilzunehmen oder sie fortzusetzen,
liegt allein bei ihm, er übernimmt insoweit auch die
Verantwortung für seine Mannschaft. Der Bootsführer ist
für die Eignung und das richtige seemännische Verhalten
seiner Crew sowie für die Eignung und den verkehrssicheren
Zustand des gemeldeten Bootes verantwortlich. Der
Veranstalter ist berechtigt, in Fällen höherer Gewalt oder
aufgrund behördlicher Anordnungen oder aus Sicherheitsgründen,
Änderungen in der Durchführung der Veranstaltung
vorzunehmen oder die Veranstaltung abzusagen. In
diesen Fällen besteht keine Schadenersatzverpflichtung
des Veranstalters gegenüber dem Teilnehmer. Eine Haftung
des Veranstalters, gleich aus welchem Rechtsgrund,
für Sach- und Vermögensschäden jeder Art und deren Folgen,
die dem Teilnehmer während oder im Zusammenhang
mit der Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung durch ein
Verhalten des Veranstalters, seiner Vertreter, Erfüllungsgehilfen
oder Beauftragten entstehen, ist bei der Verletzung
von Pflichten, die nicht Haupt-/bzw. vertragswesentliche
Pflichten (Kardinalpflichten) sind, beschränkt auf Schäden,
die vorsätzlich oder grob fahrlässig verursacht wurden.

the articles of association of the DSV, the class rules as
well as the regulations of the invitation to the competition

22.2. The German law shall prevail.
Bei der Verletzung von Kardinalpflichten ist die Haftung
des Veranstalters in Fällen einfacher Fahrlässigkeit
beschränkt auf vorhersehbare, typischerweise eintretende
Schäden. Soweit die Schadenersatzhaftung des Veranstalters
ausgeschlossen oder eingeschränkt ist, befreit der
Teilnehmer von der persönlichen Schadenersatzhaftung
auch die Angestellten - Arbeitnehmer und Mitarbeiter -
Vertreter, Erfüllungsgehilfen, Sponsoren und Personen, die
Schlepp-, Sicherungs-, oder Bergungsfahrzeuge bereitstellen,
führen oder bei deren Einsatz behilflich sind, sowie
auch alle anderen Personen, denen im Zusammenhang
mit der Durchführung der Veranstaltung ein Auftrag erteilt
worden ist. Die gültigen Wettfahrtregeln der ISAF, die Ordnungsvorschriften
Regattasegeln und das Verbandsrecht
des DSV, die Klassenvorschriften sowie die Vorschriften
der Ausschreibung und Segelanweisung sind einzuhalten
und werden ausdrücklich anerkannt.
22.2. Es gilt das Recht der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. .
23. INSURANCE
23.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid (and for
the racing area suitable) third-party liability insurance with
a minimum cover of 1.500.000 per event or the equivalent.
23. VERSICHERUNGSABDECKUNG
23.1. Jedes teilnehmende Boot muss eine Haftpflichtversicherung,

24.2. In participating in the event, a competitor automatically
grants the organizing authority and the sponsors of this
regatta, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show,
from time to time and at their discretion, any motion pictures,
still motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television
and other reproductions of him/her during the period
of the competition for the said of the event in which the
competitor participates and in all material related to the
said of the event without compensation.
24.3. Every boat may receive on-board-cameras, GPS navigators
or similar equipment.

24.2. Der (die) Teilnehmer(in) überlässt den Veranstaltern, ihren
Agenturen und Sponsoren entschädigungslos dauerhaft

3 EVENT GRADING
The event has applied for ISAF Grade 3 event.
This grading is subject to review by the ISAF Match Race
Rankings Sub Committee. The event may be regraded
when there is clear reason to do so.
4 PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME

4.2 Unless excused by the OA, attendance at the following is
mandatory:
(a) Initial briefing for skippers.
(b) Daily briefing, for skippers.
(c) Prize-giving for the final skippers and crews.
5 SKIPPERS ELIGIBILITY
5.1 Fourteen open teams will be invited. Only skippers invited
by the OA will be eligible to enter this event.
Twelve entries will be based on the ISAF Match Racing
Ranking 30 days prior to the event.
5.2 The Travemünder Woche g.m.b.H. has two Wildcards
which can be given to any crew before the end of the registration
period. If the Travemünder Woche g.m.b.H.
makes no use of the Wildcards, all fourteen entries will be
based on the ISAF Ranking 30 days prior to the event.
5.3 Skippers need to qualify to participate at the Match Race
Deutsche Meisterschaft 2011. The minimum qualifications
are two Grade 4 events 30 days prior to the event.
5.4 The registered skipper shall helm the boat at all times
while racing, except in an emergency.
5.5 To remain eligible a skipper shall confirm acceptance of
invitation in writing, (fax or e-mail is acceptable) to be
received by the date specified on the letter of invitation.
5.6 A non-refundable entry bond of 100,- shall be transferred
to the club at the acceptance of invitation for this to be valid.

5.7 All competitors shall meet the eligibility requirements of
ISAF regulation 19.2.
5.8 All competitors shall obtain an ISAF Sailor ID by registering
online at www.sailing.org/isafsailor. Skippers shall
inform the OA of their ISAF Sailor ID at registration.
All competitors (crew including skipper) shall be registered
online at www.dsv.org/index.php?id=242 (DSV-Meisterschaftsordnung
8.2).
5.9 The person in charge shall have a valid driving license of
the DSV, „Jüngstensegelschein“, „Sportsegelschein” or a
valid official license prescribed or commended for the sailing
area, issued by the DSV by order of the “Bundesministerium
für Verkehr, Bau- und Wohnungswesen”.
5.10 The event will be open only for skippers from Germany.
The winner of the event will be the German Match Race
Champion 2012.
6 ENTRIES
6.1 The team shall be entered on completion of registration,
crew weighing and the payment of all fees and deposits.
All payments shall be made in Euro (€).
6.2 Entry Fee:
The total entry fee is 350,- €. The remaining entry fee of
250 € shall be paid till July 9, 2012.

6.3 Damage deposit:
(a) An initial damage deposit of 500,- € shall be paid cash
at registration, unless extended by the OA. This deposit is
the maximum payable by the skipper as a result of any
one incident.
(b) In the event of a deduction from the damage deposit is
decided by the OA it may require that the deposit be
restored to its original amount before the skipper will be
permitted to continue in the event.
(c) Any remaining deposit after the event will be refunded
after the price giving ceremony.
6.4 Insurance: All competitors are required to have adequate
third party insurance.
7 RULES
7.1 (a) The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the
RRS, including Appendix C and the sailing Instructions.
(b) The rules for the handling of boats will apply, and will
also apply to any practice sailing and sponsor races.
Class rules will not apply.
(c)The German Masters Rules (DSV Prescriptions) “Wettsegelordnung”,
“Meisterschaftsordnung” and Appendix 3
“Match Race” will apply for this regatta.
7.2 Major Alterations to the RRS:
(a) The warning signal for each flight shall be given 7 minutes
before the start of the first match. This changes RRS C3.1.
7.3 An National Jury (NJ) will be appointed, approved by the
national authority, in accordance with RRS Appendix N.
8 BOATS AND SAILS
(a) The event will be sailed in Hunter 707 type boats
(b) Four boats will be provided.
(c) The following sails will be provided for each boat:
Mainsail, Genua, Jib, Spinnaker.
(d) Boats will be allocated by draw, either daily or for each
round as decided by the Race Committee. Sails will be
allocated by the race committee.
9 CREW (INCLUDING SKIPPER)
(a) The total number of crew, including the skipper, shall
be 4. All registered crew shall sail all races.

(b) Full women team may enter the event with a crew of 5
including the Skipper. The decision on the number of crew
may not change after the confirmed entry.
(c) The maximum total crew weight, including the skipper,
determined prior to racing shall be 370 kg, when wearing
at least shorts and shirts. Crew weight may be checked
during the regatta. At any reweighing the total weight limit
is increased by 10 kg. Any crew weighing in excess of this
increased limit shall not be penalized, but they shall
reduce their weight to the increased weight limit before
racing again.
(d) A change of the skipper is not allowed (Meisterschaftsordnung
12.2)
(e) When a registered crew member is unable to continue
in the event the NJ may authorise a substitute, a temporary
substitute or other adjustment.
10 EVENT FORMAT
(a) Skippers will be divided into two groups based on the
ISAF ranking list 30 days prior to the event.
(b) The Event will consist of the following stages:
Stage 1 - First Round Robin Group A and Group B
Stage 2 – Semi-finals; maybe ranking place 5 to 14
Stage 3 – Petit Final and Finals
(c) The OA may change the format, terminate or eliminate
any round, when conditions do not permit the completion
of the intended format.
11 COURSE
(a) The course will be windward/leeward with starboard
roundings, finishing downwind.
(b) The course area will be the lake Unterwarnow in front
of the Segelstadion Harbour City
12 ADVERTISING
(a) As boats and equipment will be supplied by the Organising
Authority ISAF, regulation 20.3.2 applies. Each boat will
be required to display advertising as supplied by the OA.
(b) Competitors may be permitted to display advertising
ashore at the venue, but this is subject to individual negotiations
with the Organizing Authority.
(c) Boats shall not be permitted the right to protest for
breaches of any rules regarding advertising (amendment
to RRS 60.1)
13 PRIZES
(a) The winner of the German Championship will be awardees
the title “German Match Race Champion 2012”.
(b) DSV gold, silver and bronze medals will be given to the
first three teams
(c) DSV winner’s certificates will be given to the first six
teams.
(d) There will be other prizes, but no prize-money.
(e) The winner of the German Match Race Championships
will qualify to participate in the 16th Match Race Germany
2013, if the winner is unable to attend, then the runner up
will be entitled to take his spot, and so forth.
14 MEDIA, IMAGES AND SOUND
The OA may require television personal and equipment (or
dummies) or headsets to be carried on board while racing
and may require competitors to be available for interviews.
The OA shall have the right to use any images and
sound recorded during the event free of any charge.
15 COACH BOATS
(a) Coach boats shall conspicuously display identification
of the team being coached. A coach boat is any boat that
is under the direction or control of a person gathering
information or giving material support for the benefit of
particular competitors either on the water or off.
(b) The organisers will not provide berths for coach boats.
(c) Any interference by a coach boat with the racing or
event organisation may result in a penalty applied at the
discretion of the NJ/Protest Committee to the appropriate
skipper or team.
16 OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All sailors are requested to use their own life jacket.
17 DISCLAIMER
All those taking part in the event do so at their own risk.
The OA, its associates and appointees accept no responsibility
for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience
incurred, howsoever caused.
18 INVITATIONS
Entries will only be accepted from invited skippers. If you
wish to be invited you should register your request for an
invitation as soon as possible with the OA.

1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The
Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text
will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and
supplied by the organizing authority.
3 ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the International 29er
Class.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter through www.29erworlds.org.
3.3 Parent/Guardian Declarations: All helms and crews
under 18 years of age during the event shall submit
signed Parent/Guardian Declarations either by post or at
registration.

4 FEES
4.1 Entry fee: 350 € if received by 1 July 2012
4.2 Entries received after 1 July and before 20 July shall be
450€
4.3 The entry fee is non refundable.

5 FORMAT OF RACING
5.1 The regatta will consist of a qualifying series and a final
series.

7 MEASUREMENTS
7.1 Boats will be inspected for class rules compliance prior to
racing (see Schedule).
7.2 Only one set of sails, and one forestay, shall be used
throughout the regatta.
8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 The sailing instructions will be available at registration.
9 VENUE
9.1 The regatta office is located at the waterfront of the
Leuchtenfeld opposite to the square-rigger “Passat” and
will be open from Friday, July 20th up to Sunday, July 29th
from 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs. On Sunday, July 29th the race
office will close soon after the last prize giving.
9.2 Racing will take place on Luebeck Bay with one course in
front of the Travemünde shore and another in front of the
Priwall shore.
9.3 Attachment A shows the approximate location of the
racing areas.
10 COURSES
10.1 The courses to be sailed will be windward-leeward courses.
The race target time will be 30 minutes.
11 PENALTY SYSTEM
11.1 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is
replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
11.2 Decisions of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.
12 SCORING
12.1 Five races are required to be completed by each fleet to
constitute a qualifying series. If 5 races are not completed
as scheduled, the qualifying series will be extended to
complete them.
12.2 One qualifying race is required to be completed by all
fleets to constitute a regatta.
12.3 If at the end of the qualifying series some boats have more
race scores than others, scores for the most recent races
will be excluded so that all boats have the same number
of race scores.
12.4 For the qualifying series, rule A4.2 is changed so that the
scores are based on the number of boats assigned to the
largest fleet.
12.5 Except for race scores excluded under instruction 12.7, a
boat’s regatta score will be the total of her race scores
from her final-series races plus points equal to her qualifying-series
rank.
12.6 Each final series fleet will be scored separately. Different
final series fleets need not have completed the same
number of final races. The boats in the Gold fleet will be
ranked highest, etc.
12.7 Series Scores (apply separately to qualifying and final
series):
(a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a
boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 5 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s
series score will be the total of her race scores excluding
her worst score.
(c) When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat’s
series score will be the total of her race scores excluding
her two worst scores.
13 SUPPORT BOATS
13.1 Support boats shall register at the Race Office during the
registration period.
13.2 The fee for support boat registration shall be 50 includes
mooring.
13.3 A unique registration number will be assigned to each
support boat. The registration number shall be visible at
all times while on the water.
13.4 Support boats shall display their national letters on a flag
or outboard covers.
14 PRIZES
14.1 Prizes will be awarded to the first three boats in the gold
fleet, and other fleets.
15 RIGHTS TO USE NAMES & LIKENESSES
15.1 Competitors automatically grant to the organizing authority
without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use
and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live,
taped or filmed television of or relating to the event.
15.2 Every boat may receive on-board cameras, GPS navigators
or similar equipment.
16 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
16.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own
risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority
will not accept any liability for material damage or personal
injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior
to, during, or after the regatta.
17 INSURANCE
17.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid thirdparty
liability insurance with a minimum cover of
1.500.000 € per event or the equivalent.
