2 VENUE
The venue will be Travemünde, Baltic Sea, Germany
3 EVENT GRADING
The event has applied for ISAF Grade 3 event.
This grading is subject to review by the ISAF Match Race
Rankings Sub Committee. The event may be regraded
when there is clear reason to do so.
4 PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME
4.1 (a) Race office open from July 20,2012 08:00 hrs
(b) Registration July 20, 2012 08.00 – 18.00 hrs
(c) Crew weighing July 20, 2012 08.00 – 18.00 hrs
(d) Training at July 20, 2012 09.30 – 16.00 hrs (2,5 hrs per
Team, registration required)
(e) First briefing July 20, 2012 19.00 hrs in front of the
Regatta Center
(f) First meeting with umpires following the first briefing.
(g) Racing days from July 21 – July 24, 2012
(h) Time of the first race each day 11.00 hrs
(i) Prize-giving on July 24, 2012 directly after racing in the
Sailors’ Village
4.2 Unless excused by the OA, attendance at the following is
mandatory:
(a) Initial briefing for skippers.
(b) Daily briefing, for skippers.
(c) Prize-giving for the final skippers and crews.
5 SKIPPERS ELIGIBILITY
5.1 Fourteen open teams will be invited. Only skippers invited
by the OA will be eligible to enter this event.
Twelve entries will be based on the ISAF Match Racing
Ranking 30 days prior to the event.
5.2 The Travemünder Woche g.m.b.H. has two Wildcards
which can be given to any crew before the end of the registration
period. If the Travemünder Woche g.m.b.H.
makes no use of the Wildcards, all fourteen entries will be
based on the ISAF Ranking 30 days prior to the event.
5.3 Skippers need to qualify to participate at the Match Race
Deutsche Meisterschaft 2011. The minimum qualifications
are two Grade 4 events 30 days prior to the event.
5.4 The registered skipper shall helm the boat at all times
while racing, except in an emergency.
5.5 To remain eligible a skipper shall confirm acceptance of
invitation in writing, (fax or e-mail is acceptable) to be
received by the date specified on the letter of invitation.
5.6 A non-refundable entry bond of 100,- shall be transferred
to the club at the acceptance of invitation for this to be valid.

5.7 All competitors shall meet the eligibility requirements of
ISAF regulation 19.2.
5.8 All competitors shall obtain an ISAF Sailor ID by registering
online at www.sailing.org/isafsailor. Skippers shall
inform the OA of their ISAF Sailor ID at registration.
All competitors (crew including skipper) shall be registered
online at www.dsv.org/index.php?id=242 (DSV-Meisterschaftsordnung
8.2).
5.9 The person in charge shall have a valid driving license of
the DSV, „Jüngstensegelschein“, „Sportsegelschein” or a
valid official license prescribed or commended for the sailing
area, issued by the DSV by order of the “Bundesministerium
für Verkehr, Bau- und Wohnungswesen”.
5.10 The event will be open only for skippers from Germany.
The winner of the event will be the German Match Race
Champion 2012.
6 ENTRIES
6.1 The team shall be entered on completion of registration,
crew weighing and the payment of all fees and deposits.
All payments shall be made in Euro (€).
6.2 Entry Fee:
The total entry fee is 350,- €. The remaining entry fee of
250 € shall be paid till July 9, 2012.

6.3 Damage deposit:
(a) An initial damage deposit of 500,- € shall be paid cash
at registration, unless extended by the OA. This deposit is
the maximum payable by the skipper as a result of any
one incident.
(b) In the event of a deduction from the damage deposit is
decided by the OA it may require that the deposit be
restored to its original amount before the skipper will be
permitted to continue in the event.
(c) Any remaining deposit after the event will be refunded
after the price giving ceremony.
6.4 Insurance: All competitors are required to have adequate
third party insurance.
7 RULES
7.1 (a) The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the
RRS, including Appendix C and the sailing Instructions.
(b) The rules for the handling of boats will apply, and will
also apply to any practice sailing and sponsor races.
Class rules will not apply.
(c)The German Masters Rules (DSV Prescriptions) “Wettsegelordnung”,
“Meisterschaftsordnung” and Appendix 3
“Match Race” will apply for this regatta.
7.2 Major Alterations to the RRS:
(a) The warning signal for each flight shall be given 7 minutes
before the start of the first match. This changes RRS C3.1.
7.3 An National Jury (NJ) will be appointed, approved by the
national authority, in accordance with RRS Appendix N.
8 BOATS AND SAILS
(a) The event will be sailed in Hunter 707 type boats
(b) Four boats will be provided.
(c) The following sails will be provided for each boat:
Mainsail, Genua, Jib, Spinnaker.
(d) Boats will be allocated by draw, either daily or for each
round as decided by the Race Committee. Sails will be
allocated by the race committee.
9 CREW (INCLUDING SKIPPER)
(a) The total number of crew, including the skipper, shall
be 4. All registered crew shall sail all races.
