1. OBSCENE, as that term is defined in section 1460 of title 18, United States Code;<br />
2. CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, as that term is defined in section 2256 of title 18, United<br />
States Cod; or<br />
3. Harmful to minors.<br />
HARMFUL TO MINORS. The term “harmful to minors” means any picture, image, graphic image<br />
file, or other visual depiction that:<br />
1. Taken as a whole and with respect to minors, appeals to a prurient interest in<br />
nudity, sex, or excretion;<br />
2. Depicts, describes or represents, in a patently offensive way with respect to what is<br />
suitable for minors, an actual or simulated sexual act or sexual contact, actual or<br />
simulated normal or perverted sexual acts, or a lewd exhibition of the genitals;<br />
and<br />
3. Taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value<br />
as to minors.<br />
SEXUAL ACT; SEXUAL CONTACT: The term “sexual act” and “sexual contact”<br />
have the meanings given such terms in section 2246 of title 18, United States Code.<br />
TECHNOLOGY COMPUTER PROTECTION<br />
<strong>Highland</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>ISD</strong> recognizes that with the implementation of the <strong>Technology</strong> program there is a<br />
need to protect the investment by both the District and the Student/Parent. The following outlines<br />
the various areas of protection: warranty, accidental damage protection and insurance.<br />
Apple WARRANTY: This coverage is purchased by <strong>Highland</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>ISD</strong> as part of the purchase<br />
price of the equipment. Apple warrants the Mobile Devices from defects in materials and<br />
workmanship. This limited warranty covers normal use, mechanical breakdown or faulty<br />
construction and will provide replacement parts necessary to repair the <strong>Technology</strong> or<br />
<strong>Technology</strong> replacement. The Apple warranty does not warrant against damage caused by<br />
misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents or computer viruses.<br />
School District Protection An annual protection payment for coverage of theft, loss or<br />
damage, in the amount of $50.00 for the first student and $25.00 for each additional<br />
student, not to exceed $100.00 per family. The $50.00 payment is nonrefundable. This<br />
annual coverage begins upon receipt of the payment and ends at the conclusion of each<br />
school year. The school deductible is $250.00.<br />
INSURANCE FOR THEFT, LOSS OR FIRE: Mobile Devices that are stolen, lost or damaged are<br />
Not covered by the Apple Warranty.<br />
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In cases of theft, vandalism and other criminal acts, a police<br />
report MUST be filed by the student or parent for the protection coverage to take place.<br />
INTENTIONAL DAMAGE: Students/Parents are responsible for full payment of
