Conference Overview
Course Description
The purpose of this live CME activity is to provide evidence-based knowledge
on a broad range of issues relevant to women’s health across the lifespan, to a
target audience that includes physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners,
nurses, and other allied healthcare providers. This conference remains unique in its
multidisciplinary approach to understanding sex and gender differences across the
spectrum of disease, and to its interdisciplinary audience, which spans departments
and organ systems and also encompasses all healthcare professions. Lectures
and question-and-answer sessions feature experts from a variety of specialties
including obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, endocrinology, general internal
medicine, psychiatry and aesthetic medicine.
Who Should Attend
This program is designed for OB/GYNs, internists, generalists, and family
practitioners. This program would also be of interest to physician assistants,
nurse practitioners, nurses and other allied health care professionals in the Mid-
Atlantic region who want to learn the latest trends and hear expert speakers
discuss hot topics in women’s health. The program offers 6.5 hours of CME credit.
Conference Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Understand the treatment options for obesity in women.
2. Discuss health care reform & how it affects women’s health.
3. Understand current issues in infertility, environmental toxins
and treatment options including gender selection.
4. Understand the future directions for ovarian cancer screening.
5. Review diabetes and the implications and management issue
for women.
6. Discuss implications and management of depression in
women during various phases over the lifespan.
7. Review commonly available bio-identical hormones and their
utility and risks.
8. Understand various procedures available for cosmetic surgery.
