Program Description
This two day review course is intended for
progressive and critical care nurses who are
seeking a comprehensive review of the core
knowledge base for bedside practice. It is
helpful for those preparing for the AACN PCCN
or CCRN certification exam. The lectures and
time allotment are based on the PCCN and
CCRN exam blueprint, and will cover all body
systems, physiology, pathophysiology, assessment
strategies and treatment options for
appropriate patients.
Objectives
1. Identify the common acute care needs of
patients with single and multisystem organ
abnormalities in the critical care units.
2. Outline assessment strategies and treatment
options for common critical care problems.
3. Review the pathophysiology for single and
multisystem dysfunction and discuss the
pharmacological management of each.
4. Describe the AACN synergy model of caring
and the blueprint for the PCCN and
CCRN certification exam.

Course Fee
Course fee is $100 for Inova employees and
$250 for non-Inova employees.
Contact Hours
Inova Learning Network is approved as a
provider of continuing education in nursing by
the Virginia Nurses Association, which is
accredited as an approver of continuing education
in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The Inova Learning Network, in conjunction with
the Nurses Association’s CEA program is
offering approximately 14 contact hours for this
program.
