FAYETTEVILLE —The second<br />
year of North Carolina’s Civil War<br />
Sesquicentennial will include the 11th<br />
annual Civil War Quiz Bowl, sponsored<br />
by the Museum of the Cape Fear.<br />
On Thursday, Jan. 26, beginning<br />
at 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County<br />
Headquarters Library, 20 contestants<br />
will test their knowledge of Civil War<br />
trivia, tactics and history.<br />
Each participant will select a category<br />
and host Jim Greathouse will<br />
ask the questions. Categories cover all<br />

two strikes, representing two incorrect<br />
answers.<br />
The competition is open to contestants<br />
of all ages, and prizes will<br />
be awarded for both the adult (ages<br />
18 and up) and student (ages 17 and<br />

public notice for this project<br />
on Oct. 17, 2011. The<br />
public notice describes<br />
the ongoing process in<br />
choosing the LEDPA<br />
seeking funding for the<br />
project and the application<br />
ranked about 40th<br />
out of more than 85 applications.<br />
Jackson said the town<br />
is working to improve the<br />
application and resubmit<br />
it by the Jan. 31 deadline.<br />
He added that the project,<br />
if the grant funding is<br />
approved, will be a multiphase<br />
project. The total<br />
estimated cost will be<br />
about $1.5 million when<br />
the project is completed in<br />
its entirety.<br />
