The objective is to establish 3 computer labs including network infrastructure for undergraduate students of Computer
and Software Engineering, computing facilities for Ph.D. research in Electrical and Computer Engineering and wireless
LAN in addition to the existing network facilities. To promote and expand IT base in different facets of Engineering
Education and to develop human resources skilled in Computer/Software Engineering.

1.8.3 Up gradation of Research Laboratories of Transportation Engineering in CED at
University of Engg. & Tech, Taxila
The objective of this project is to strengthen lab of Transportation Engineering to provide training and research facilities
in Transportation Engineering knowledge for national and international job market. To provide facilities for studies /
research leading to M.Sc. And Ph.D. degree. To interact with industry in Government and Private sector for meaningful
research/assistance. To provide adequate educated and trained manpower in the field of transportation engineering and a
forum to academicians and practicing engineers to share knowledge in the newly emerging technologies of computer
integrated automation through conference, symposia, workshops and seminars. To conduct research programme in the
lab on test sections covering flexible, semi-rigid and rigid pavements for evaluation of pavement.
