<strong>The</strong> following lots 1781 to 1823 are sold on<br />

behalf <strong>of</strong> the family <strong>of</strong> the late Peter Fry <strong>of</strong><br />

Three Mile Cross near Reading. Peter was a<br />

former engineer with the railway at Reading<br />

and was a founder member <strong>of</strong> Reading<br />

Society <strong>of</strong> Model Engineers and like Gordon<br />

Howell’s locomotives, they were all made to<br />

use rather than just exhibition pieces.<br />

1784 Part built chassis, wheels, piston<br />

castings and other parts for a 3.5in<br />

gauge tank engine, the drawings<br />

for which were serialised in ‘Model<br />

Engineer 1961’ complete with<br />

relevant copies <strong>of</strong> the publication.<br />

1781 A 3.5 in gauge London Midland<br />

Scottish Class 5 (Black 5) 4.6.0<br />

locomotive and tender ‘Liz’ no 4859.<br />

Complete with transport box.<br />

1785 A Stuart BB enclosed single cylinder<br />

tank engine no 1369 complete with<br />

transport trolley and box cover<br />

and valve gear for a 3.5in gauge 2.6.2<br />
