Growing the Economy<br />

• Announce 5,100 new jobs and<br />

$415 million in new capital<br />

investment.<br />

• Conduct at least one staff<br />

recruitment mission to Asia and<br />

Europe.<br />

• Announce the location <strong>of</strong> a<br />

consular or trade <strong>of</strong>fice in<br />

<strong>Charlotte</strong>.

to Germany in October.<br />

• Host at least two events with<br />

targeted companies in<br />

firms.

• Plan and implement 4 summits<br />

(transportation, health care,<br />

energy and IT).<br />

• <strong>Work</strong> with City and County<br />

regarding infrastructure plans and<br />

manage any bond campaign<br />

resulting from the plans.<br />

• Plan and implement lobbying<br />

trips to Raleigh and Washington.

• Continue development <strong>of</strong><br />

successful Green<strong>Work</strong>s and<br />

Manufacturers Council<br />

• Develop legislative agenda ensuring<br />

the following items are included:<br />

changes to tax and incentive policy<br />

encouraging high growth<br />

entrepreneurship, improving the<br />

regulatory climate, changes to the<br />

changes to energy policy,<br />

maintaining necessary investments in<br />

infrastructure, and create the Big<br />

Data program at UNC <strong>Charlotte</strong> and<br />

for the funding needed.

• <strong>Work</strong> with CMS and Project LIFT to<br />

advocate at the county, state and<br />

federal level to change policies<br />

that will aid in reform.<br />

• Retain gap funds for the Garden<br />

Parkway in state budget.

and Services<br />

• Develop and implement a<br />

PowerUp series deployed through<br />

the chapters that engages the<br />

best start-up ventures in each <strong>of</strong><br />

the chapter footprints.<br />

• Increase the cumulative dollar<br />

amount <strong>of</strong> corporate/MBE<br />

contracted opportunities by 15%<br />

by December 31, <strong>2013</strong>.

• Secure $500,000 in funding for year<br />

2 <strong>of</strong> CMEDI.<br />

• Develop and deliver a signature<br />

event for young pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />

• Attain monthly sample ratings from<br />

Member Engagement events for<br />

connectivity and business relevance<br />

at or above 80%.

and satisfaction at chamber<br />

events, maintaining connectivity<br />

and relevance ratings above 80<br />

percent while increasing chapter<br />

• Meet budgeted Revenue<br />

Campaign goal.<br />

• Meet budgeted new member<br />

operating surplus.<br />

selection process for the<br />

chamber’s future space.<br />

• Launch <strong>Chamber</strong> Legacy Club to<br />

strengthen recognition and<br />

retention <strong>of</strong> members.<br />

events, within budgeted levels,<br />

including:<br />

– Annual Meeting, December 3<br />

– Inter City Visit to Houston, June 26-28<br />

– Fall Planning Retreat, September 25 & 26<br />

– Economic Outlook Conference,<br />

December 9<br />

– Quarterly Board <strong>of</strong> Advisors meetings
