<strong>Little</strong> <strong>Folks</strong> <strong>Camp</strong><br />

<strong>Little</strong> <strong>Folks</strong> <strong>is</strong> a <strong>half</strong>-<strong>day</strong> <strong>program</strong> packed with activities like circle time games, parachute play, playdough<br />

fun, crafts, playground play and time to just be a kid. <strong>Little</strong> <strong>Folks</strong> <strong>Camp</strong> will provide a positive and<br />

unique camp experience for children ages 3 to 5 years old. Our camper to counselor ratio <strong>is</strong> 6:1. Please<br />

pack a snack and a lunch because campers get hungry with all the exerc<strong>is</strong>e. <strong>Camp</strong>ers must be toilet<br />

trained, no pull-ups allowed. Your child should be accustomed to leaving you for three hours. Please<br />

have your child dress for play. Pre-reg<strong>is</strong>tration <strong>is</strong> mandatory. <strong>Camp</strong>ers must be three years <strong>of</strong> age to<br />

reg<strong>is</strong>ter for th<strong>is</strong> <strong>program</strong>. Activities are geared for preschool and kindergarten age children. No camp<br />

July 5. No transfers or refunds for m<strong>is</strong>sed <strong>day</strong>s! <strong>Camp</strong> location <strong>is</strong> subject to change.<br />

*There <strong>is</strong> a late fee after 12:10pm <strong>of</strong> $1.00 per minute as determined by staff’s watch.<br />

<strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Tustin</strong><br />

<strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Tustin</strong> <strong>is</strong> a summer <strong>day</strong> camp <strong>program</strong> designed for your child who has completed kindergarten<br />

and <strong>is</strong> entering the 1 st grade up to 10 years old, entering the 5 th grade. <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Tustin</strong> will allow your child<br />

to gain opportunities for self-expression through cooperative games, arts and crafts, drama, outdoor<br />

activities and <strong>of</strong>f-site excursions. Our camper to counselor ratio <strong>is</strong> 10:1. Each week, <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Tustin</strong><br />

implements a different theme to which activities and crafts are geared toward. Remember that the<br />

campers get hungry during the <strong>day</strong> with all th<strong>is</strong> fun and excitement, so please pack a snack and a lunch.<br />

There are usually two <strong>of</strong>fsite excursions a week. One <strong>is</strong> a major excursion usually to a local theme park.<br />

The other <strong>is</strong> a minor excursion. Some <strong>of</strong> the excursions may need additional money for your child to<br />

have lunch, play games, or buy souvenirs. Parent letters, emergency forms and weekly schedules will be<br />

posted on the city’s web-site. No on-site reg<strong>is</strong>tration allowed, you must reg<strong>is</strong>ter with the Parks and<br />

Recreation Department or on-line. <strong>Camp</strong> will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm daily. No early drop <strong>of</strong>fs will<br />

be allowed. No camp July 5. No transfers or refunds for m<strong>is</strong>sed <strong>day</strong>s!<br />

<strong>Tustin</strong> Teen <strong>Camp</strong><br />

<strong>Tustin</strong> Teen <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>is</strong> for those between the ages <strong>of</strong> 11 and 14 years old or entering the 6 th grade though<br />

8 th grade! Teen <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>is</strong> specifically designed for the “teen” age group with a series <strong>of</strong> field trips and<br />

minor excursions, teambuilding group activities, games, and crafts. We ask that all participants come<br />

with an open attitude to new experiences and a willingness to make new friends. Our camper to<br />

counselor ratio <strong>is</strong> 10:1. <strong>Tustin</strong> Teen <strong>Camp</strong> will run separately from <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Tustin</strong>. However, the two<br />

camps will join together for all big excursions. Hurry and reg<strong>is</strong>ter for th<strong>is</strong> fun filled camp because it <strong>is</strong><br />

very popular and <strong>is</strong> limited to only 35 teens per week! Remember that the campers get hungry during<br />

the <strong>day</strong> with all th<strong>is</strong> fun and excitement, so please pack a snack and a lunch. There are 2 <strong>of</strong>f-site<br />

excursions, with one <strong>of</strong> the excursions being a major excursion and the other being a minor excursion.<br />

Counselor in Training Program for Teens<br />

Hey all you teens in 9 th thru 12 th grades, are you looking to volunteer th<strong>is</strong> summer as a camp counselor?<br />

If so, then our Counselor in Training Program <strong>is</strong> just what you are looking for! The C.I.T. <strong>program</strong> <strong>is</strong> a<br />

volunteer <strong>program</strong> designed for 14 to 17 year olds that will provide participants a rewarding experience<br />

developing valuable skills in areas <strong>of</strong> leadership, organization, activity planning, time management,


problem solving, teamwork and customer service. Th<strong>is</strong> <strong>program</strong> will also provide an opportunity for<br />

participants to contribute back to the <strong>Tustin</strong> community through their volunteer work.<br />

C.I.T. volunteers are selected based upon meeting qualifications associated with being a Recreation<br />

Leader in our <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>program</strong>s. Some <strong>of</strong> these qualifications include enjoying working with people, a<br />

positive attitude, able to follow directions and rules, being responsible, knowledge <strong>of</strong> recreational<br />

<strong>program</strong>s and activities associated with youth either by previous participation or volunteer experience.<br />

Interested participants may apply by completing and submitting a Counselor in Training<br />

Application. Applications are available on the <strong>City</strong>’s website at www.tustinca.org under <strong>City</strong><br />

Departments, Parks and Recreation. You may also pick up an application at the Columbus <strong>Tustin</strong> Activity<br />

Center. Applications must be turned in by May 1, 2010. Qualified participants will then be contacted and<br />

interviews will be scheduled. C.I.T.’s will be required to work for one week, Mon<strong>day</strong> through Fri<strong>day</strong><br />

10:00am-4:00pm or 8:30am-1:00pm, with the exception <strong>of</strong> longer hours on excursion <strong>day</strong>s, if applicable.<br />
