INTRODUCTION
“Water is Life, Water is Scarce, Water
is Fugitive”
Water resources play an important role in the overall
progress of a country. The proper utilization and
management of available water resources according
to the requirement has always been a crucial issue in
developed as well as developing countries like
Pakistan. The drastically increasing water demand
and rapid changes in climate in whole world are
posing serious threats of water shortage. In order to
deal with the water related issues in future,
improvement in current water resources management
practices is needed by the healthy contribution of
water resources engineers, managers and planners.
The Department of Civil Engineering of University
of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore is
pleased to announce an International Conference on
Water Resources Engineering & Management. The
Conference will be held at UET Lahore, Pakistan on
March 7-8, 2011.
Lahore is the largest city in Punjab Province with a
population of over 7 million. Lahore is also known as
the cultural, entertainment and food capital of
Pakistan. There are many historical and cultural
attractions, including the extraordinary Mughal
Architecture. This city is also famous for its unique
shopping areas and restaurants. Lahore has always
been fascinating for the tourists due to its diversity of
attractions.
OBJECTIVE
This Conference would provide a great opportunity
to engineers, hydrologists, geo-scientists and other
professionals engaged in the field of water resources
engineering, management & planning, operation &
construction to share their expertise and experiences
in the area of Water Resources Engineering. The
Conference will help in bridging the gap between
theoretical knowledge and field practices.
PROGRAM
The program of the Conference will comprise an
Inaugural Session followed by Technical Sessions.
Technical/Cultural visits will also be arranged. The
Organizing Committee of the Conference expects a
very warm feedback from all the professionals to
make this Conference successful.

Abstracts of the papers with maximum 250 words
should reach the <strong>conference</strong> secretariat latest by
September 15, 2010. Both oral and poster
presentations will be arranged.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
The guests may plan staying at hotels in Lahore like
Pearl Continental, Avari, Holiday Inn. and Best
Western. The approximate single room charges of
these hotels range from US $ 75 to US $ 150 per

Proceedings at the following rates:
Half A-4 size page Rs 10,000/-
Full A-4 size page Rs 15,000/-
The advertisement in the final form along with the
payment should be sent to the Secretary, Conference
Organizing Committee.

EXHIBITION
An Exhibition to display the recent developments in
water resources engineering will be arranged in the
vicinity of Conference Hall. All interested parties are
invited to display their expertise, innovations, tools,
equipment etc. The following rates have been fixed
for the stalls:

3’x10’ table Rs 30,000/-
