HP ProLiant Instant
Capacity Program (U.S.
only)
HP Utility Ready
Computing on Matrix
The ProLiant Instant Capacity program provides cost-effective "just in time" inventory protection. ProLiant
iCAP is designed to provide "ready to run" servers for immediate activation, while avoiding up-front costs.
Supported servers include BladeSystem ProLiant (and ML/DL) servers deployed via Direct
fulfillment
Uses HP Systems Insight Manager, automated, billing and tracking process upon activation and
consumption
Servers can be pre-racked, pre-imaged, and tested in preparation of activation
Amortize total blade infrastructure (rack, enclosure, power, interconnects) over the total number of
blades
Warranty commences once customer has been invoiced (title exchanges)
Price captured at time of shipment
Ability to reset target inventory levels in real time
HP Utility Ready Computing blades (URB) are pay-for-use infrastructure that resides at your site, billed
monthly by HP based on metered power-on time, and transfers cost of blade servers and associated
infrastructure from CapEx to OpEx in an alternative way from a traditional lease.
The URB Advantage:
Aligning costs with utilization
Reduce upfront expenses
React instantly to changing demands
Effective Chargeback mechanism
And it's at your site, you maintain control!
With CloudSystem Matrix, customers can add Utility Ready Computing blades to their Matrix enclosures
and leverage the benefits offered by utility ready computing.
NOTE: Customers cannot mix non-URC blades with URC blades same in same enclosure, they should be
housed in separate enclosures.
