Admission to first year full time post graduate degree course in
M.Tech. (Food Technology) for the academic year 2013-14
At Departmnet of Technology, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Online Applications are invited for M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test 2013
M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test-2013 is only for those candidates (both
sponsored and non-Sponsored) who do not have valid GATE score or who have not
attempted GATE examination and wish to seek admission to Post Graduate course in
M.Tech (Food Technology) Department of Technology, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Eligibility Criteria (Basic educational qualification) for appearing to M.Tech (Food
Technology)
1. Candidate should be an Indian National and who possess Bachelors degree or equivalent in
the relevant field of Engineering/Technology or M.Sc. (Food Science & Technology) from an
AICTE/MHRD approved institutions.
OR
2. Appeared** for the final year examination of Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant
field of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE/MHRD approved institutions.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to M.Tech (Food Technology)
1. Basic educational qualification as specified above.
2. Having valid GATE Score in respective qualifying branch
OR
2. Appeared and secured non-zero marks in the M.Tech. (Food Technology)
Entrance Test-2013
Note:- * - ‘Aggregate marks’ means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in
subjects based on which the class declaration is made in the particular University from which
the candidate is passing the qualifying examination. The percentage of marks obtained by the
candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the
university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the
candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to
percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution
from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does
not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be
established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying
the result with 100. In case the percentage of marks in aggregate comes in fraction then
percentage of marks in aggregate shall be rounded off e.g. 44.50-44.99 % shall be rounded to
45% and 44.01- 44.49 % shall be rounded to 44%marks.

**- Candidates appeared for final year examination fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria
will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the
examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2013. if the
candidate is failed and has applied for revaluation of the result in such cases the admission to
such candidate will be given on provisional basis subject to the condition that he/she will pass
the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2013.
Undertaking from such candidates shall be taken for forfeiting the right of admission and fees
paid in case of not securing required percentage of marks in qualifying examination. In case,
the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before 25th
September 2013, then admission offered to such candidate will stand automatically cancelled
and the fees (tuition, development and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year
2013-14 will be forfeited.
Filling and submission of Online M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test-2013
1. It is mandatory for the candidates to fill and submit the Online Application Form’s.
2. M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test-2013 Application Form will be available at the
website http://online.shivajiuniversity.in from 07-06-2013 to 25-06-2013.
3. The application form processing fees is Rs. 850/- for Maharashtra State (General
Category), NRI and OMS candidates whereas Rs. 650/- for reserved category
candidates & Persons with Disability
4. Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State (i.e. Candidates having relevant backward
class Caste Certificate and other applicable certificates issued by Maharashtra State
authorities). This fee is to be paid through Demand Draft of Rs. 850/- for Maharashtra
State (General Category), NRI and OMS candidates whereas Rs. 650/- for reserved
category candidates & Persons with Disability will be drawn in favour of “Finance and
Accounts officer, Shivaji University,” Payable at Kolhapur. This fees is non refundable and
non transferable under any circumstances.
4. In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of
the Hall Ticket for the M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test--2013, it is mandatory
for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form by
himself/herself and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for
further processing.
5. Printed applications sent by Post/Courier etc. Department of Technology, Shivaji
University, Kolhapur, office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be
done with the candidates.

Scheme of Examination M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance-2013 Department of
Technology, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
1. M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test-2013 will be conducted at Department of
Technology, Shivaji University, Kolhapur which will include multiple choice objective
type questions (MCQs). The question paper for the Entrance will be set in English only.
Translations in any other languages will not be available. The OMR sheets should be
field with BLACK PEN Only.
2. M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test--2013 would be comprised of one paper of
100 marks of 90 minutes duration.
3. M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test-2013 will not have negative mark system.
Unanswered questions will carry zero marks.
4. M.Tech (Food Technology) Entrance Test--2013 Examination will be based on the
syllabi of GATE (Food Technology)qualifying examination.
