SHIVAJI UNIVERSITY, KOLHAPUR
ORDER
The Government of Maharashtra, Higher & Technical Education
Department, has approved the implementation of revised pay scale of
University and College teachers of Government & Non Government aided
Colleges with effect from 1 st January, 2006 by Government Resolution (Higher
& Technical Education Department) No.SPC-2010/ (34/10)/TE-2, dated 20 th
August, 2010 with direction to initiate action to amend relevant Statutes
WHEREAS the terms and conditions of service of teachers and
Librarian etc. are to be laid down by prescribing the suitable Statute as
provided under section 51
Universities Act 1994;
(8) (14) and 76, 77, 78, 79 of the Maharashtra
AND WHEREAS the Academic Council and the Management Council
will consider and recommend to the Senate the draft Statutes and the matter of
prescribing qualifications for teachers in the University and in the affiliated
colleges and recognized institutions including Principals, having regard to the
provisions of the said Government Resolution, dated 20 th Aug., 2010 in course
of time, and it will be quite some time before the Senate of the University
approves these draft Statutes and the Chancellor’s assent is received.
AND WHEREAS Section 28 (r) (t) (u) (y) – Maharashtra Universities Act.
1994 empowers the Management Council of the University to ensure the
appointments of teachers in the University and in the affiliated colleges and
Recognised Institutions are made in accordance with the qualifications and
subject to the terms and conditions of service and discipline and duties
prescribed by or under the Statute or Ordinances.
AND WHEREAS the Scales of pay recommended by the AICTE, as
accepted by the Government of India and approved by the State Government,
are to be made effective from 1/1/2006 as laid down in the Government
Resolution, dated 20 th August, 2010 and can be implemented only after the
Statutes are made with regard to the revised scales of pay and other measures
for improvement of standards in Higher Education in all categories of teachers
employed in the University Department All University Affiliated Government
and Non Government aided Colleges such as Engineering, Pharmacy,
Architecture and Management etc. other than managed and maintained by the
State Government.

THEREFORE, I, Professor Dr. Namdev Jagnnath Pawar Vice-Chancellor
of the Shivaji University, Kolhapur in exercise of the powers conferred upon me
under section 14(8) of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, hereby direct that

No.SPC-2010/ (34/10)/TE-2, dated 20 th August, 2010 of “Revision of
pay scales of teachers and equivalent cadres in Degree/Diploma Level
Technical Education as per AICTE Scheme (6 th Pay Commission)
University Departments, All University Affiliated Government and
Non Government aided Colleges such as Engineering, Pharmacy,
Architecture, Management etc.” enclosed to this order is hereby
directed to be implemented with effect from 01/01/2006
This order shall remain operative till such time as Statutes are made in
these respects and assented to by the Hon’ble Chancellor.
