EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE
21-23 MARCH 2006
LONDON EXCEL
WELCOME TO THE GREATEST MARKETPLACE IN THE WORLD FOR THE MARINE
SCIENCE & OCEAN TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRIES! THE EXHIBITION AND
CONFERENCES SERVE AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN SHOWCASING THE CUTTING-EDGE
TECHNOLOGIES AND ADVANCING THE SCIENCES RELATED TO THE FUTURE OF OUR
GLOBAL OCEAN PLANET. OI’S SHEER SIZE AND BREADTH MAKES IT THE ONE
‘MUST-ATTEND’ EVENT EVERY TWO YEARS WHICH IS WHY IT PROVIDES SUCH A
CUSTOMER-RICH ENVIRONMENT AND ATTRACTS 7,000 KEY ATTENDEES IN TOTAL.
THE WORLD’S LARGEST MARINE SCIENCE
& OCEAN TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION
This is the third event to be held at
ExCeL and it is the largest maritime
meeting ever to take place in London.
London’s ease of accessibility to our
worldwide audience and unrivalled
entertainment opportunities is
an additional draw particularly
to overseas visitors.
OI FACT: OI 2004 MET OR
EXCEEDED THE EXPECTATIONS
OF 94% EXHIBITORS
"OI London proved once again to be a
highly-focused and business-driven
event. It was one of our busiest
shows for a number of years
reflected by the high value of orders
that were placed during the week"
Richard Binks, then Sales Director,
PARTICIPATING SHIPS
One of OI’s most exciting elements
and a key ingredient in its recipe for
success is the participating vessel
programme. We welcome vessels and
craft at ExCeL to complement the OI
06 exhibition and conference and we
know the value that attendees gain
from actually seeing your equipment,
in situ. The dockside, which is located
immediately outside the exhibition
hall, was very well visited at OI 2004
when 17 vessels were berthed
alongside. We invite research and
survey vessels, as well as oil spill
control boats with their equipment,
to join us at the 2006 event and
depending on their size it may
be possible to undertake underway
demonstrations.
Sonardyne International Ltd
"OI was again a very successful show
for Gardline… it continues to attract the
majority of our valued international
customer base. ExCeL, combining spacious
exhibition halls and convenient access to
vessels is the perfect venue, as it gives us
the opportunity to have twice the exposure.
Our floating exhibit, MV Ocean Seeker
welcomed over 400 visitors onboard"
Paul Stanley, Managing Director,
Gardline Marine Sciences Ltd
OI06 THE GLOBAL OCEAN FORUM
OI CONSISTENTLY DELIVERS RESULTS BY HELPING TO BUILD A
LARGER COMMUNITY - MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR REAL SALES
AND MORE FACE-TO-FACE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES WITH
POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS THAN AT ANY OTHER EVENT.
A SEA OF CHANGE IN MARKETING
As an exhibitor you have increasingly higher
expectations of your return on investment
and the return on your time
and you face competing pressures on
your marketing budget.
More than ever it is essential that you take
control of the customers you have, build
new customers through networking, expand
your traditional markets and find new ones.
Otherwise the power of internet search
engines risks leaving the choice of business
relationship in your customers’ hands and
those of your competitors. And this is where
OI plays a vital part. Participation in OI
offers your current and future customers a
3-dimensional environment where they can
use all their senses to experience your
products and services.
BUILDING COMMUNITIES
For the first time we welcome alongside
OI a new event - Spill 06 International
exhibition and Interspill 2006 conference,
which will increase the oil spill, pollution
control & monitoring element of our
audience at OI. Spill International will be
a permanent addition to the OI series.
In addition maritime defence and security
will be particularly highlighted. No other
event in the UK addresses underwater
defence & security technology and we are
planning an international conference
alongside OI to complement this group of
exhibits. Additional "meetings alongside"
will have synergies with the OI audience
and provide additional tiers of customers
for our exhibitors. Together OI 06 and its
associated meetings are expected to attract
more than 600 exhibiting companies from 25
countries occupying 7500m 2 /80,000ft 2 nett
space in a single 15000m 2 /160,000ft 2 hall -
the largest maritime meeting ever
to take place in London.
… COST-EFFECTIVE + TIME-EFFECTIVE
OI attracts those with purchasing &
specifying influence, from the UK,
Europe and worldwide that help shape
your industry and buy your products &
services.
You can meet them in a variety of
environments – on your stand on the show
floor, in your hospitality suite, on board your
vessel, at lunch in one of the many ExCeL
campus restaurants, in the evening at one
of the OI cocktail receptions or anywhere in
London’s West End… face to face, one to one.
“We can highly recommend OI for many reasons. We had hundreds of visitors to our small
booth and our ‘new contact’ rate was 16-20 per day for serious enquiries. We specialise in
training systems for sonar and radar and OI 04 proved to have a niche selection of visitors
who came to look at training providers. We also established new agents/distributors for our
product in Europe, Africa and Asia. We have already booked for OI06”
Doug Simpson, Managing Director, iTP Ltd
‘’A remarkable show, quality visitors’’
Richard Burt, Sales & Marketing Director,
Chelsea Technologies Group
"OI 2004 was an excellent show for VT TSS
with a number of orders taken on the stand
and a dramatically increased level of
interest on return to the office"
Carolyn Jones, Marketing Manager,
VT TSS Ltd
OI06 CONFERENCES & MEETINGS
WE ENCOURAGE OTHER OCEAN, ATMOSPHERIC, SPACE,
TELECOMMUNICATIONS, CABLES AND RELATED PROFESSIONAL
SOCIETIES AND ORGANISATIONS TO JOIN IN BY PLANNING
& HOSTING CONCURRENT MEETINGS.
OI CONFERENCE -
to the non-GIS and non-coastal specialists,
addressing the responsible stakeholders in
government, commerce, and industry.
