16x9 Unveils Movcam

the Movcam Cage system, which provides maximum
accessory support for Sony’s PMW-F5/F55 cameras.
This system allows camera operators near-limitless
abilities to configure accessories specifically to their
shooting needs. The affordable, intelligently designed
Movcam Cage system envelopes the F5/F55 in a
rigid framework of mounting options. The Movcam
top plate mounts on top of the camera and features
numerous 1/4” threaded holes. The front of the plate
has a mounting bracket for 15mm mini rods. A weaver
rail mount secures the top handle to the plate. The
EVF mount may be positioned on the front or the rear
stanchion. The side handles reinforce the system to
support a fully loaded F5/F55 camera. The LWS base
plate completes the cage framework and mounts to
the bottom of the camera.

Cineo Lighting introduces a smaller softlight into
their TruColor product line: the TruColor LS. The
TruColor LS brings all of the advantages of the awardwinning
TruColor HS to a smaller, lower-priced
package. With an aperture size roughly that of an
iPad, the TruColor LS outputs up to 8,000 lumens
using Cineo’s Remote Phosphor Technology (RPT).
Interchangeable RPT panels allow color temperatures
between 2700K and 6500K, matching the color
quality of the TruColor HS. TruColor LS is a versatile
source where a large volume of color-accurate light is
required in a small space. The fixture’s output matches
a 1K soft source while drawing less than 150 watts.
TruColor LS has several powering options including
AC, DC and the ability to gang several LS heads on
a single power supply, and operates flicker-free up to
10,000 frames per second.

Cooke Optics presents a prototype from its new
Anamorphic/i lens range, consisting of seven new
prime lenses: 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm,
100mm and 135mm, all at T2.3. The lenses are approximately
the size of Cooke’s industry standard S4/i
lenses, retain the Cooke Look®, are color matched
with the Cooke 5/i, S4/i and miniS4/i ranges, and
come equipped with the next generation /i Technology
to capture lens metadata. Cooke will also show its
new lens test projector, the first product from a new
line of affordable and innovative lens testing equipment
designed by Cooke and manufactured by Pure4C,
under the brand Cooke Metrology. Many current
projectors cannot pass a beam correctly through
lenses that are faster than T2. Cooke Metrology’s
projector is so bright that it can be demonstrated in
daylight, making it much easier to discern flaws and
artifacts in fast lenses.

V-mount batteries more useful. These units combine
the capabilities of batteries to produce 28V and 14V
circuits with up to 560W of power. Both the twobattery
and four-battery units are hot-swappable. For
single battery users, the BV270 battery offers 266Wh
of capacity, making it the largest on-camera battery
available – at a weight of only three pounds. The 65Wh
BubblePack universal battery provides three voltages
(14.8V, 11.1V, 8.4V) through its four taps, powering
up to four devices at once. The BV090LV battery is a
new, thin design (1.2”), lightweight (1.1 lbs) V-mount
made with a hardened case and two P-taps on the
battery, which allows usage in most light video applications.

New IS-mini

From the color science experts at Fujifilm comes the
new IS-mini, a small color management device that
converts incoming HD-SDI moving images via two
sets of 1D and 3D LUTs, to outputs of both HD-SDI
and HDMI connections. By use of a dedicated standalone
software application (for both MacOS and Windows),
the IS-mini creates monitor calibrations for almost
any kind of production monitor in just a few short
minutes. Creative LUTS can then be concatenated
together with the profile for truly accurate previews.
The IS-mini is an extension of the technologies first
introduced through the CCBOXX (Image Processing
System IS-100), and is also able to work with the
CCBOXX by extending the abilities of remote color
adjustment of live digital images during movie and
television productions. Through the built-in Ethernet
connection, multiple IS-minis can be assembled into
a powerful array for multi-monitor/multi-camera image
control and very precise color matching.

New Lights

Fiilex introduces three new lights with color control.
The Q500 is the most powerful light released by Fiilex,
and the first member in the Q Series of intelligent studio
lights. The Q500 is DMX controllable, has a CCT
range from 2800K-6500K, and an additional knob for
hue control that allows fine tuning of the color spectrum
while maintaining a constant CRI greater than 90.
The P180 is a powerful on-camera ENG light for the
professional camera operator. It has a tunable color
spectrum from 3000K-5600K and intensity control,
and is one of the smallest and strongest on-camera
LED lights on the market. The P100 is a compact and
lightweight on-camera specular light source with a
rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This light boasts versatile
features such as a tunable color spectrum from
3000K-5600K, intensity control from 30% to 100%,
and an adjustable beam angle of 30-54 degrees.
