Daintree 4WD Wanderer<br />

<strong>Travel</strong> through the rich farming areas toward<br />

the <strong>World</strong> Heritage Listed forest region of Cape<br />

Tribulation. You board a personalised craft for<br />

a cruise on the mirrored smooth waters of the<br />

Daintree River. You will cruise close to riverbanks<br />

and under the overhead canopy of the rainforest<br />

seeking out the vivid Ulysees Butterfly, Kingfishers<br />

and various other wildlife. Arriving on the northern<br />

side of the river we now enter the Cape Tribulation<br />

section of the Wet Tropics <strong>World</strong> Heritage protected<br />

rainforest. Our journey takes up the beautiful<br />

Alexandra Range passing through rainforest<br />

waterfalls and Jindalba.<br />

Continuing along the Cape Tribulation road, we<br />

then stop at the magical Thornton Beach. Lunch<br />

is a special treat today, deep under the Rainforest<br />

canopy. After lunch, we take you to a exotic<br />

tropical fruit orchard. Our last stop and final lasting<br />

impression will be at the outstanding panoramic<br />

picture postcard view at Alexandra Range Lookout.<br />

One final treat for the day is the crossing on the<br />

Daintree River Ferry — the iconic vehicle punt which<br />

transfers you out of the world heritage rainforest and<br />

on to your home-ward road.<br />

Aboriginal Culture, Sky Rail &<br />

Rainforest Experience<br />

Discover the Aboriginal Culture Park situated on<br />

25 acres of land owned by the Tjapukai people at<br />

Caravonica, north of Cairns, Tjapukai Aboriginal<br />

Cultural Park is a stunning theatrical interpretation<br />

of Aboriginal culture from the beginning of time<br />

into the future. Seven separate arenas allow you<br />

to experience every facet of the rainforest people’s<br />

culture. After lunch make your way to Skyrail. Your<br />

gondola trip takes you above the canopy of this<br />

world heritage national park with stops along the<br />

way to visit Red Peak. Arrive at Kuranda, your guide<br />

meets you to escort you to the village. After you visit<br />

the mighty Barron Falls lookout before returning to<br />

Cairns via the beautiful northern beaches.<br />

Twilight in the Tropics<br />

Experience<br />

Make your way to The Gillies Range where you can<br />

enjoy the spectacular views of the Goldsborough<br />

Valley below.<br />

We soon arrive at Lake Barrine, which was formed,<br />

more than 10,000 years ago when the crater of a<br />

magma volcano was filled with water. You will have<br />

afternoon tea at the Lake Barrine Tea House where<br />

you will enjoy some Devonshire teas. As we finish<br />

here we make a short walk to the Giant Kauri trees<br />

to enjoy possible sightings of musky rat kangaroos,<br />

Boyd’s Forest Dragons and local endemic birds.<br />

You then more on to discover some platypus down<br />

at the creek and also maybe see more beautiful<br />

tropical birds, water dragons and turtles. Dinner<br />

tonight is at the Historic Peeramon Pub. We start<br />

to wind up our evening with a stop at the Curtain<br />

Fig. On our way back to Cairns we might finish with<br />

sightings of owls, kangaroos and pademelons.<br />
