When you arrive, you will be met with countless period features, including the 250-year-old panelled Great Hall. All old castles should have a ghost, and Tulloch is said to have one in the shape of the “Green Lady”. Now, just how green she is, and the details of her existence we do not know, but she has been seen over the centuries. A portrait of her hangs in the Grand Hall. Tulloch Castle has just 20 well appointed bedrooms, all with their own unique character and charm. Deep in the Warwickshire countyside set in the tranquil surroundings of its own 28-acre estate, Studley Castle is a place of great character and charm. Close to historic Stratford-Upon-Avon and the Cotswolds, the hotel was built in the Victorian times in the style of a medieval castle. The Castle at Taunton is steeped in the drama and romance of English history. Once a Norman fortress, it has been welcoming travellers to the town since the 12th century. In 1685, the Duke of Monmouth’s officers were heard “roystering at the Castle Inn” before their defeat by the forces of King James II at Sedgemoor. Shortly after, Judge Jeffreys held his Bloody Assize in the Great Hall of the castle. Today the castle lives at peace with its turbulent past but preserves the atmosphere of its ancient tradition. The Chapman family has been running the hotel for 60 years and, in that time, it has acquired a worldwide reputation for the warmth of its hospitality. There are 44 luxurious, beautifully decorated bedrooms, all of a distinctive style, and a sense of home as befits a famous family-owned hotel. General Information • Hertz will require a credit card imprint to be held as a deposit at the rental counter of your pick up location. • All drivers of the vehicle must be 23 years of age and carry a full, current drivers licence, which has been held for at least 12 months. A Young Driver Surcharge of £15.75 + tax per day (subject to change) applies to renters aged between 23-24 years (up to a maximum of 10 days) and is applicable on specific groups only. Maximum age for Northern Ireland is 79 years, conditions apply for those aged between 76-79 years, please ask for details. • If driving in Central London, a Congestion Charge applies to all vehicles entering the congestion zone between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday (excluding public holidays).
