Veterans at Risk<br />

<strong>The</strong> number of veterans who face critical housing needs is<br />

staggering. <strong>The</strong> statistics paint a compelling picture:<br />

• An estimated 136,334 veterans spent at least one night in a homeless<br />

shelter or transition housing program during 2009.<br />

• Almost 43,000 military personnel have been wounded in Operations<br />

Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn. (Department of Defense)<br />
